Does anyone know anything about San Jose or Memphis yet? Any official word? I'm planning on making a 32 hour drive (round trip) to see Kiwi in Memphis if he goes... Just double checking to see if anyone's heard anything. I've seen nothing.

His name is still on the official acceptance list but the deadline for withdrawals is 12.00 on friday before the tournament starts. Usually he withdraws a few days before that. But hey... no risk no fun... go for it!

 We're going reguardless I'm sure. We all already have off work, so why not go on a massive road trip?!

look at today`s post on his website... he is taking a 2 day break from his very hard tennispractice!! VERY HARD TENNISPRACTICE sounds very very good, doesn`t it? Not only practice but tennispractice! That includes backhand, doesn`t it?

he withdrew from San Jose today. But hey... San Jose->Memphis->Las Vegas would be a lot of flying around, wouldn`t it? So I hope for Memphis. He could start at the place where he lost his luck last year.
But I hope the withdrawal from San Jose means we will see him in Krefeld tomorrow although 3 days without practice is not really good for him....  |

I wouldn't count on Memphis either. It's either Indian Wells (Protected Ranking) or Clay season.
Good to see that he was present today in Krefeld.  He wasn't sitting with the team though (like Boris Becker for example).
Anyways, Tuesday he'll fly to the DTB Tennis training camp in Marbella/Spain where he'll resume his training on Hard Court. He spent so much time in Germany going to doctors and the rehabilitation that it's time for a change. He said that he sees "light at the end of the tunnel". How many time did we hear that already?

Nicolas Kiefer will beim Masters-Turnier in Indian Wells in vier Wochen zurück auf den Tennisplatz. Der seit einem Dreivierteljahr am linken Handgelenk verletzte Hannoveraner wird demnächst nach Marbella reisen und im Camp des früheren Damen- Bundestrainers Klaus Hofsäß trainieren.
"Die Zeit im Gefängnis ist vorbei. Endlich kann ich wieder unter freiem Himmel spielen", sagte der 29-Jährige am Rande des Daviscup-Erstrundenspiels zwischen Deutschland und Kroatien in Krefeld. "Die Zimmer sind gebucht", erzählte Kiefer, der seine Teilnahme bei den in den kommenden beiden Wochen stattfindenden Turnieren in San Jose und Memphis absagte.

Of course he wants to have his comeback on HC and it wouldn't make any sense to have it in Miami, the last HC tourney for a while.
