Default Re: Federer to do test with Paul Annacone

Indoors isn't a 'surface', like outdoors isn't a surface. In that regard, the bounce, but not the speed of the WTF courts favoured Federer. On quicker courts, he would have more of a chance. In any case, he needs to make his first serves, as he completely failed to do in the single service game he lost in that WTF match, and as he failed to do against Nadal in Australia.

Default What if Roger will...? (a question for rafatards only)

Nadal-tard logic assesment question:

Let's suppose that:

Roger will win 1 more Wimby (2011), 1 more USOpen- beating Rafa in the final (2012) and 2012 Olympics in singles - winning on the grass of Wimbledon. Let's also suppose he will win Davis Cup in 2013 with Wawa, or not, who cares abt Davis Cup, anyway?

So, he will end up with 18 slams and a H2H like 10-16 vs Rafa (no more slam meetings apart from the already mentioned USOpen final).

Let's also suppose Rafa will stop at 16 slams and somewhere arround 250 weeks at no.1, with no more than 5 year-ends no. 1s.

Who will be greater, in the big scheme of things: Rafa or Roger ?

This is basically only for rafa-tards, but anyone else should be free to comment and engage in argumentative dialogue.

ROGER FEDERER: No, Roger Federer doesn't pull out. Otherwise he doesn't walk on court (smiling).

You seem to be a smart guy, so frankly I don't get why are you making these kind of threads? Rafatards perceive Nadull as the GOAT already, so logically what kind of answer do you expect If the conditions you mentioned would be fulfilled?

I know, isn't it? I guess now we can stop talking about "outdoor hardcourts" and "indoor hardcourts", and actually pay attention to the characteristics of the surface itself.

I believe feds only chance against Nadal is the net because you cant beat Nadal going toe to toe from the baseline.
You can beat Nadal from the baseline, but Fed doing this will lose most of the time. With the right mental attitude Fed would probably win most of the time by a slim margin.

Fed makes some uncharastic errors when he plays Nadal, it must be the mental part of his game from what I can see. Though he's been, the last 2-3 years, making these kind of mistakes against anyone.

This wasn't evident at the WTF, I was unsure that Fed could win that third set and was waiting for the same kind of errors that everybody's seen for years.
In the second set it seems Fed reverted to his usual and typical type of play against Nadal. I have no idea why he would change up what was working so well in the first set.

I hope Fed can see he has to just be aggressive against Nadal, while being aggressive he'll have little time to think about the mental demons. Losing the second set and coming back to take the title will have gone a long way in building confidence against Nadal.
Expect Nadal however to counter this change of game by Fed, so we'll have to see how it plays out.

This is going to be very interesting going forward to see if Fed can play with the style he's been working on.
I think he will become even more comfortable as he incorporates these kind of strategies in his game.

Default A World Without Fed and the Clay Warrior : Where Would the Sport Be Today?

imagine a world without fed and nadal. what would you do and who would you watch? who would captivate your interest the most in the sport?

could you enjoy the sport as much as you have with those two around? and where would have the sport been today without fed and nadal?

and finally who would be king in a world without fed and the clay warrior?

the floor is at your disposal. snatch the floor at once and be honest for a change.

It will happen sooner or later and we will find other players to watch though these two have set the standard for the champions to come.

I've liked tennis since I was a young girl and I was a fan of Rafter and Corretja and liked other players of the same era, then I started liking some of the current one specially the top 2 but I started following them before either one won a GS, so I know I won't stop watching the sport once Fedal is gone though I will miss them a lot.

I don't see Djokovic or Murray dominating the way Fedal has done, maybe when they retire there's another pair of great champions in the making, I have my sights set on a couple of very young guns (no names, don't want to jinx them ) and I expect them to step up and win the Grand Slams in the future, maybe 5/6 years from now

- 99.8% of the posters wouldn't be on this board.
- It would be Sampras-Agassi tardwars.
- While defending one side hating on the other , therefore doing the same thing that you are accusing the other of.
- The sport existed before Federer and Nadal and will do so once they leave the game.

They aren't bigger than the sport.
