Yay Roger I knew it would be tough with rust and the fact that Milos is such a tough opponent, so a win is fantastic. Onwards and upwards! So great to see him back again

Re: ~***Mutua Madrid Open 2012***~ Vamos Rogelio!!: R2 vs. Raonic Wednesday
I thought the match was an excellent workout for Roger considering it was his first match against an opponent who could have troubled any of the top 3 he was up against with his massive serving.
Great shot to finish too. Well done Roger. And yes - its wonderful to see him back - there is simply no one more beautiful to watch play the game (in more ways than one ).

Phew that was a tough match, but good for him. Hope he gets a good ground strokes workout in his next match.

real glad Roger took this one but it's frustrating to see the younger up-and-comers facing him so early on. no more heart attack Fed

Looked like Becker/Edberg on clay. Fed was vintage Edberg in the second set. Beautiful tennis.

I honestly believe Raonic would've beaten every other player in the draw the way he played yesterday, so great work from Roger getting the W !

only Nadal or Djokovic could beat him imo.
I think Fed has a good chance now in this tournament, he played better than against Lopez last year and looks mentally with a lot of desire, and his draw is good now.
I can't see him defeated by Gasquet on this quick surface, Gasquet served well against Bellucci and might take him to tight sets but it will not be Rome, completely different surface : Gasquet's game is too defensive for that surface.
Next two matches will be good to get rhythm on the baseline.

Re: ~***Mutua Madrid Open 2012***~ Vamos Rogelio!!: R3 vs. Gasquet
What a difficult draw!
If Fed defeats Gasquet he will probably face a really motivated Ferrer.
And we all know Fed knows how to defeat Ferrer, but I think that's just the bad point, Ferrer really wants to beat Roger.
