Belgrade R2: Paire def. Garcia-Lopez 4-6 7-5 7-5
Not much to say here. GGL had 6-4 *5-4 and collapsed. Was the much more solid player and his forehand was dictating the match until it was time to close it out and he couldn't do it. Saved 0-40 at *4-5 in the third set. Paire saved two breakpoints at 5 all in the third set with big serves. GGL got a lot more tentative and allowed Benoit to dictate with his backhand the second half of the match, and Benoit served a lot better the second and third sets.
Paire has a bad forehand and is ultra inconsistent, but his athleticism, first serve, his dropshots and especially his backhand are world class. And, to be fair, he hit some great forehands in the third set, especially on return. Great victory for him here.

Awful shit from GGL. Poor quality match overall. Paire took some great risks, which almost costed his mind at 5-5 in the third, but paid off in the end.

Definitely clay, jrm. He's not that good on HC. Doesn't move as well and he catches balls late a lot on HC.
