One of the few good posts in this entire thread. Marko is out there trying to succeed in something he loves which clearly incites the many armchair experts on this forum who have probably never achieved anything in their lives. If he doesn't make it then fine, at least he gave it his best shot. The only shame would be in not trying in the first place or listening to the criticisms of a bunch of nobodies on a forum.

If his name wasn't Djokovic, then this match wouldn't even happened in the first place

Exactly, people love to criticize so much. Specially from the comfortability of their armchairs.

He's still way less known than the likes of Volandri and practically everyone in the main draw so looks like Bozoljac was never going to be doing anything much in this main draw had he been granted a WC. Nobody is a "nobody" by that criteria. He doesn't play ATP level events yet so he's not a ghastly proposition in qualifying for one is all I meant. When did I dispute that Bozoljac was miles better than Marko?? Course he is. How do people even know for sure Krajinovic even wanted to play? He's been given wild cards before for this, he just played in Barcelona last week, for all we know he mightn't even have wanted to play depending on his schedule and plans. Obviously there's favourtism and that's why Marko gets in but it hasn't been every year.

I don't see why people complain so much about Marko. I mean, he likes this sport and he's obviously trying to be a good player, but he has still a lot of work to do. He is not killing anyone, so I don't see why he should retire and become a tournament director or find another job. This just because he is the brother of Nole, otherwise no one would have considered him.

Plus, Volandri is a Top 100 player who plays really well on clay, so I doubt that Djoko could have done much more than this.
Keep trying Marko and don't give up.

That was in Rome in 2007.But,that doesn't change the fact that older of 2 Nole's brothers has no future as a tennis player.

They should probably kidnap Marko and lock him up in Novak's space egg. Some injections of blood plasma from Contador on top of that and maybe his movement and endurance can start to look like his older brother.

Right now he's more like B.Djokovic. B stands for Bye. His passion for the sport might be there but it's sad for him too to always be compared to Novak. Maybe should have picked another sport just to escape that

I don´t think comparisons to his brother would be nearly as bad, if he would play according to his own level, and grind it out at the futures. Then if he would still suck and lose matches, who would care? It wouldn´t be a big deal. But now that he accepts these WC´s he gets through his brother, WCs that he would never get on his own, he puts himself in a very difficult position, because THEN he is really expected to deliver, and show he was worth that WC. And in his case, he isn´t. Because he just isn´t good enough. I don´t think most people have an issue with Marko trying to be a tennis pro and trying his best to succeed. Its these dumb WC´s that could have been handed to some players who would actually have had a chance to win a match. Its not like players ranked between 50-150 are all making lots of money, some of them are barely making a living, and these WCs are a big deal to them. Giving them to a player whose ranking is closer to 1000, who doesnt have a chance of winning a match, and whose family has more money they can ever spend, is just unfair.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ1zNQYS0cM before novak arrived on earth in the mork spaceship, he had trouble on planet gluten. marko is too emotional to handle losing to amateurs every week in futures; last week, he was crying
as soon as novak struggled to care
for tennis in muddy monte carlo.
he won't improve himself or his bros' tennis, no matter how much his parents and novak deny it.
novak is too talented to be playing davis cup with him.
novak admitted that marko isn't
progressing in top 500 events.

Tennis has definitely had some families doing well.

DJOKOVIC CLAN KEEP IT IN THE FAMILY
Marko Djokovic failed to win his first main draw ATP Tour match in the Serbia Open in Belgrade this week, leaving the youngster with a long way to go to emulate the feats of his older brother Novak.

With another Djokovic brother, Djordje, still to start on the tour, the chances are Serbia's foremost tennis family could be dominating the game for some time to come. But it does not always follow that talent will run in the family.

Patrick McEnroe was no slouch as a professional, but his playing career pales into insignificance when put alongside his older brother John, who claimed seven Grand Slam titles in his illustrious career.

Patrick McEnroe won 16 career titles and reached the semi-final of the 1991 Australian Open, where he lost to Boris Becker. Like brother John, he would go on to captain the US Davis Cup team.

The Sanchez brothers, Emilio and Javier, made history by becoming the first brothers to contest a tour final in the Open era when they squared off in Madrid in 1987. Their sister, Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario, was no slouch either.

While Andy Murray rose up the singles rankings, his older brother Jamie quickly opted to concentrate entirely on doubles - with some reward, as he beat Andy to a Grand Slam title when he won the Wimbledon mixed doubles in 2007 with Jelena Jankovic.

Neither of the Bryan brothers, Bob and Mike, fancied a singles career, instead forging a partnership which has made them the longest-reigning doubles world number ones with 77 titles - including 11 Grand Slams - to their name.

Tennis success is a family affair in Ecuador, where Nicolas Lapentti - nephew of former French Open champion Andres Gomez - was a long-time fixture in the world's top 50 and reached the last eight of both French and Australian Opens.

While younger brother Giovanni never scaled such heights, the teenager retains a famous place in Davis Cup history as the man who dispatched Arvind Parmar to give Ecuador a stunning win over Great Britain at Wimbledon in 2000.

The diminutive Belgian Rochus brothers, Christophe and Olivier, were a fixture on the circuit for some years until Christophe retired at the end of the 2009 season. Olivier still plays.

The Lloyd brothers John and David brought success to Great Britain but were hard-pushed to emulate the Renshaw twins William and Ernest. William won seven Wimbledon world titles while Ernest had to make do with one.

Sibling rivalry is also prevalent in the women's game, led obviously by the Williams sisters but also including Polish pair Agnieszka and Urszula Radwanska, and the respective trios of Bondarenko and Maleeva sisters.
