Marko Djokovic would struggle in the NCAA.

Surprised Novak didn't even stick around in Belgrade to support the tournament & cheer on his brothers. Think the chances of this tournament stays a 250 5 years from now are pretty low...
Dusan Lajovic(191) is still in the main draw. He won his opening round today and seems a decent enough prospect. He seems well liked by the other Serbian guys, Tipsarevic and Djokovic are often tweeting him.

I feel bad for Marko, tennis is not his calling. But how many sports great has equally talented siblings? not many that I can recall. At least he has the good look .

Yes but there were other Serbs e.g. the guy who played doubles in DC with Zimonjic who are much higher ranked in singles and I'm sure would love a chance to play in their country too. I get that the Djokovics own the tournament but at some point this becomes overindulgence... Hope this is the last year and then others are given a chance.

Without Novak this tournament really struggles - players have chosen Munich and Estoril despite those having stronger fields - I always find that odd in some ways - they'd rather go where the bigger cheque is and perhaps a more convenient location (Germany/Portugal) than where they have a better chance of making it deep in the draw...

I feel bad for this guy, so much in his brothers shadow and literally no hope he will have tennis success. at least someone like Djokovic good friend Troicki somehow manages to win matches on ATP tour... Marko hopelessly not even in the same league as brother

The Williams sisters; and then there are others where one may be more successful but the other has still found a career in the sport e.g. the McEnroe brothers, the Murray brothers, the Rochus brothers, even the Radwanska sisters - at least they're both top 100 players even if one is top 10 and the other struggles to make main draws. Not forgetting the Bryan Brothers. So there are in fact a lot of successful families in tennis..

Marko is not even top 500. Wonder if he really has trained all his life as much as Novak has - or was Novak groomed as the player and Marko gave it a bit of a go but not the 5 hours a day kind of routine... You'd think he'd be a bit better than he is if for the last 7+ yrs he's been training similarly to Novak and had access to all the facilities he would have done...

As I said, not many I can recall. But of course they exist. Even if you count 100 of them, what's the percentage of 100 to all the famous athletes in the world? So I don't think there's any reason to look down on Marko just bcos his big bro is #1 in the world.

Sedin Twins, how I love them. And we'll see if Eli is as good as Payton on SNL .

Djorde, from what I hear, has Novak's talent, Marko somehow missed it

Not sure where you have heard this from, because Djordje turns 17 this year and he hasn't yet made it out of the second round of even the smallest level junior tournaments.

Are you talking about Bozoljac? He lost in qualifying pretty easily to a nobody so I don't think he'd have done much better than old Marko in the main draw but yeah obviously he's more deserving of the wildcard. Anyway, my point was that Marko wasn't the only Serbian in the draw, Lajovic who is one of Serbia's better upcoming prospects it would seem, took advantage of his WC opportunity.

I think Marko needs to get off the court and go to college or if he wants to kid himself, kid himself in the futures/challengers. These WC's are getting embarrassing for everyone involved I'm afraid, even if there is only one or two a year. Although the ironic thing is, with his ranking it's not even that easy for him to get into futures, challengers. He got turned down for some WC request in Turkey. So getting into ATP tournaments can in some unique cases be easier
