Re: Barcelona QF WWW: Verdasco or Nishikori?
The only time they met, at AO last year, Nando beat Kei fairly easily in straight sets.
Hope it will be a different story this time!

Nishikori, obviously. The young Japanese is a more talented player than Fiasco by far and he will prove it today by sending him packing in 2 sets.
Kei 6-3 6-4.

Re: Barcelona QF WWW: Verdasco or Nishikori?
Hopefully Kei.
He's the best among the young generation so far. He doesn't get as much hype as Tomic or Raonic, but he's getting better results than them despite flying under the radar. He's a hardworking player who could have a very good career. Hope he wins tomorrow

Re: Barcelona QF WWW: Verdasco or Nishikori?
does nishi have an effective backhand slice? that could come in handy tomorrow. nishi has to be able to vary the spins and the pace.
verdasco is starting to play well so this may end up being close.

If it goes three sets, I think Nishikori will win.

Re: Barcelona QF WWW: Verdasco or Nishikori?
Nando for me. He's been excellent on the dirt since Acapulco where he beat some top tier guys like Almagro and Wawrinka. He played great in the first set against Tsonga in Monte Carlo as well making the round of 16 there.
Nishikori has struggled so far this year on clay. 7-3 this year but hasn't beaten anyone halfway decent.
Verdasco at home will school the young fella on getting it done on the dirt. He's had some success here too, he won this thing back in 2010.

Re: Barcelona QF WWW: Verdasco or Nishikori?
i wasn't impressed with nishikori during his match against ramos and i think verdasco is ready to find his groove for the clay season. verdasco in 2.

Re: Barcelona QF WWW: Verdasco or Nishikori?
Fernando in 3, he is a better claycourter, tough Kei is really competitive and tough to beat, even on clay. With Verdasco you never know, but he's finding some new consistency since Acapulco ( F, R3, R3, R3, QF, with an 10-4 mark). His losses have come to Ferrer, JMDP, Almagro & Tsonga.
