Default WWW: Nadal v Farah

Nadal faces a Colombian ranked 246 in the world - who won his first ATP match today at the age of 25 against Andujar (0-6 record before that). Will the fact that Nadal's never faced this guy before make him nervous? Or more likely - will be gutted by Madrid's loss today and struggle to concentrate?

I'd have preferred a known quantity like Andujar really. So what chance does Farah have? How many games?

Really I'd like Nadal to double bagel him but he seems incapable of bagelling anymore - always gets broken himself. Losing over 4 games tomorrow is a bad result for Nadal IMO - time to impress Rafa.

Agree. Nadal does not have the weapons to hurt Farah on clay.

Farah will abuse his weak backhand.

Not really no. I'm more happy for Farah - it's his moment in the spotlight - the least he deserves is an MTF thread in his honour right. I also think the guy will probably do okay - one of Nadal's bad traits is not being ruthless enough - he doesn't blow opponents away like Nole, Roger etc. can do - so wouldn't surprise me at all if the guy wins quite a few games - which would be ridiculous in some ways too.

Didn't see the match though - beating Andujar on clay isn't easy - the guy just won again in Casablanca.

Always nice for journeymen to get that one big moment.

Sadly true - he said in his oncourt interview today that "beating a player like Guillermo 6-1, 6-2 isn't a normal score" and Guillermo's a great player etc. etc. - get that the guy's Spanish and it's a home crowd but get real Rafa - you should expect to thrash players of GGL's rank on clay!

A 2-6, 3-6 loss will be an awesome showing for Farah.

Farah won a match before today's win over Andujar.

His serve and backhand are good enough to get him a couple of games, I guess.
