Barcelona R2: Nishikori def. Kukushkin 6-3 4-6 6-0
A win is a win for Kei. Not a vintage performance, many loose errors, but many strong shots as well from Kei. Caca took an injury timeout for his hip down 0-*3 in the third set.

Not a convincing win from Kei but a win is a win.

It nice to see Kei serving a bagel again, although hopefully Kukushkin is okay. He was moving well until the final set.

NID, much better and more talented player won. Kei is easily top 10 material, his groundies are great as is his movement, just needs to improve his serve.

Happy to see Kei winning this match. Congrats to him. But really I didn't expect this kind of collapse from Kukushkin in the finals set.

Re: Barcelona R2: Nishikori def. Kukushkin 6-3 4-6 6-0
Kei is a cool kid, the last set going 6-0 reminds me of the Nishikori/Djokovic third set at the end of last season that went 6-0 in favor of NIshikori, that sure was surprising.
this less so but it's great to see Kei fighting like he always does. I think it's definitely an underrated part of his game but you never see him give up. people always mention Ferrer (who probably is the best dogfighter in the tennis world), but Nishikori often plays his best at the end

if he gains some strength and can really hit through more of his shots then maybe! with some power Kei would be so dangerous
