honestly we can't say it was a fluke exactly because there's no such thing as 'fluke' wins really but what we can say is that Del Potro the majority of the time is nowhere near as good as he was that year at the US OPEN.
Del Potro can get hot but he just has never been the same since early 2010. he will likely never match a player like Murray even though he leads him with the GS win.
I hope this will change because i love del potro, but something seems to be missing. he used to seem more creative and more INTO the game, now he just hits his famous power forehands from the baseline but you always feel when watching him like he doesn't quite have the confidence and doesn't quite have the weapons besides the go to forehand. just feel like something is missing.
Murray is a much better player than Del Potro overall. I hope Juan gets his magic back and I hope he improves but we definitely can say that is 2009 US OPEN form was essentially a one time thing so far in his career
