Rui saved several BPs at 5 all in the second set and then Victor saved 15-40 second serve at *5-6. Victor saved 9/11 BPs in the match. Most of the games were close games or deuce games, good to see Victor come through this battle, over two hours for two sets. Great return numbers for Victor. Machado's ATP losing streak continues.

Rui's serve is abysmal. If I were his coach, he'd be doing serve training all day for the next month, his return and ground game is clearly ATP level (and what took him to the top 60), his serve is possibly the worse in the top 100.

He had so many chances in the second set, set points, served for the match... even in the first set he was a break up. But with that serve it's impossible to make any progress.

Next week, Estoril. Hope he can do better there.
