Barcelona R1: Gil def. Granollers 6-2 6-2
Nice, just like in Australia, a comfortable victory. Good win for Fred. Awesome return numbers. Granollers with two holds in eight service games and 39% of service points won.

It's unacceptable for a top-30 player to lose like this against Gil, but looks like Marcel is Gil's bitch so no surprise at all Anyway, really pathetic result for him, and on his home tourney...

Gil should give Benneteau a new carreer high of number 26.
All Benneteau can hope in his current condition

Granollers is overranked anyway. He's not really top 30 quality. But this result is still horrible. Especially since he led by a break to start the match.

I love Fred. The result isn't the bad thing, more the scoreboard being so lopsided.

yes after Machado-Sousa last week
and if ever Machado beat Hanescu and Tipsarevic, he would face the winner for the winner of the Portuguese championship
I've noticed that Portuguese players meet quite often for a reason, esp. there were several Gil-Machado in the past.

They often attend to the same challengers. That must be it...
Machado can beat Hanescu, but Tipsarevic is another story...

Re: Barcelona R1: Gil def. Granollers 6-2 6-2
No stream, unfortunately. The match in Australia, Gil was basically able to dictate from the baseline. So I'm guessing the same happened here, and Gil is simply able to outhit Granollers.

This year is totally forgettable for Marcel so far, I'm getting worried. Would be nice to see few good wins finally.
