Default Monte Carlo R3 : Berdych def. Nishikori 2-6 6-2 6-4

Nishikori had his chances in the 3rd, but Berdych broke in the final game for the match. The forehand to get 0-40 on Nishi's serve was brutal.

Good stuff.

Very close match, sad to see Nishikori lose what he could have won

Default Monte Carlo R3: [6] Berdych def. [12] Nishikori 6-2 2-6 6-4

The final 10 minutes were completely diabolical from Kei. Sad since the third set was actually pretty good. Kei will rue the missed opportunity on BP at 4-4 in the third set, where he shanked a forehand that would have likely been a winning shot and given him the opportunity to serve for it. And he never recovered after losing that point.

Very up and down quality match overall, both had good moments, both had wild moments. Tomas was simply the more mentally solid in the end with a little bit more firepower, and that's what made the difference.

Aww, shame to end the match like that for Kei but Berdych put his all into those last few points.

Kei

Such a shame after a near-flawless first set where he only lost two points on serve.

Kei could have very easily won this if he had converted that break point where he was in control of the rally, but alas, it was not to be.

Umpire from center court started talking on break point at 4-4.
Good job Berdych, 50-50 against Murray.

The way things were going in the third I expected Kei to win, but then it all seemed to change so quickly.

Kei

Losing to this ballbasher is very disappointing. Berdshit doesn't belong in QF of clay masters.

So close for Nishikori, but still a good result vs. a top 10 player on clay.
