2012 Spring Season - RANKINGS OUT!
Rankings are out for the 2012 dual season! Not many surprises, USC comes in at #1 over #2 Virginia. Ohio State and Georgia at 3-4.
Pac-12 and the SEC have 3 teams in the top 10.

Re: 2012 Spring Season - RANKINGS OUT!
the team rankings are very similiar to how they looked when last season ended. Tennessee down to 13. I think they will be even lower than that as the season goes on.

Re: 2012 Spring Season - RANKINGS OUT!
Yeah, singles rankings left out quite a few players due to inactivity in the ITA fall season, which is bogus. So don't look into those

Is Cunha really down to 7 or is that a lack of activity thing?

That's a legit ranking. He is not as dominant as he was when he was a Freshman. He lost some matches this fall. Got beat 6-2 6-3 by Mitchell Frank. Lost in a close one to Costin Paval and lost to #36 Anthony Rossi.

Steve Johnson and Bradley Klahn being the biggest names in that category.

Re: 2012 Spring Season - RANKINGS OUT!
Busy weekend. #10 Duke got a big road win at #32 Michigan 4-3. #7 Cunha beat #6 Evan King 5,1. Mich won doubles point but the Blue Devils were too tough, winning all 4 of their singles matches in straight sets.
In an SEC-ACC matchup, #13 Tennessee won on the road at #15 Georgia Tech. #9 Evan King was able to get a win, 7-6 in the 3rd. Tennessee freshman Hunter Reese won in 3 sets at #3.

Re: 2012 Spring Season - RANKINGS OUT!
Tennessee lost to Memphis on Friday so it was impressive that they were able to bounce back with the win.
Stanford slipped by by Tulsa 4-3. Stanford also beat UNC 5-2 and then UNC beat Tulsa 5-2

Re: 2012 Spring Season - RANKINGS OUT!
It's amazing the difference between college tennis and professional tennis. Cunha was number 2 and is actually in top 10, but he lost in the beggining of the year to a guy ranked like 1,000 in an ATP Challenger.

But there are also examples of pretty good colege players but not elite running through future events. Like Moritz Baumann.

Well this new coach has the #6 class for 2012, and he's got a couple new guys for this spring semester. I think we may do a little better than expected, which (even though we are #41) will be nice because n the past we've been doing the opposite. Kreyman and Lee will have to have very good years if the team wants a shot at postseason

Re: 2012 Spring Season - RANKINGS OUT!
Wake with a huge 4-3 win in the ITA kickoff over Miami. Come-from-behind win for Kreyman at 2 and Lee.
