Default The curious case of Bernard Tomic's accent

This is Bernard at a press conference following his victory over Kokkinakis last night:

And this is Bernard just 5 months ago in Washington:

You can hear in the first video the Australian accent is almost non-existent while just 5 months ago in Washington the Aussie accent was very clear. What's going on Bernie?

Body double that only shows up in Australia. Explains a lot. He almost has a German accent in the first

He's being careful about what he's saying and therefore his accent changes with concentration.

5 months ago Bernard Tomic was still the party boy we all know and love, but that's all in the past.

His accent actually fluctuates throughout the course of an interview. It's just a compliment to his dynamic game and shows how he can adjust to all conditions.

Here's a great video where his accent changes almost every minute.

He's a poser, that's all.

The one thing you can say for Nadal, whether he's in England or America, His English accent is consistent to one with extreme learning disability.

that is bizarre

so maybe his Australian accent is fake? in the OP's post, the second video he is fairly convincing with the Australian accent, but in these press conferences he is coming off with more of a European accent.

weird weird weird. can't say I've ever heard of a player faking an accent for a long time

it's not quite as bad as it once was. you should go back and listen to an interview of Nadal from 2006/2007 he has like a personal translator
