Milan Pokrajac

I figure since he once played some good tennis in 2008, why not make a thread for Milan as well. He was born in Czech Republic but moved to Canada at a young age. In 2008, Milan nearly cracked the top 400 with some results at the futures & challenger level.
This week, he's playing qualies in Great Britain futures in Glascow, Scotland. Its Indoor Hard. He has a bye in the first round and chances are, he can easily qualify for this event.
I predict he will crack the top 500 this season and surpass Steven Diez.

Re: Milan Pokrajac
I really support Pokrajac. Not sure how he will do though, he always was a strange player, winning 3 matches at a challenger once, only to go back to futures and struggle to win 2. Real streaky.

Yeah probably but his form seemed better after his return last year. I guess it depends on how committed he is. He kinda did the same thing Erik Chvojka did I believe, both with big gaps when they started out at school before going back to tennis.

Re: Milan Pokrajac
A solid win, on clay nonetheless, over World No. 424 Tosic in straight sets, in Futures event in Serbia. Next up is qualifier ranked around 1300.

Re: Milan Pokrajac
Into the semi-finals now and should reach the final, as faces a player ranked under him and one who has gotten to this round without having faced a seeded player.

Re: Milan Pokrajac
Milan qualified for Granby Challenger. He plays Samuel Monette in first round, very beatable for Milan.

Re: Milan Pokrajac
Best Monette 4 and 2, winning 60% of the total points, and 26 of 27 first serves in (put in play 59% of his first serves). Next up is the fast rising Belgian, Authom.

Re: Milan Pokrajac
Thanks for linking the article. Another of what are now several Canadians knocking on the door of the top echelon, though the clock is ticking for many (aside from Raonic, Pospisil, Diez, and Peliwo).

Re: Milan Pokrajac
Took too much out of him, likely. He played Guch a couple hours after Niki and played him tough, going down in 3 sets. (Milan had some set points in the first and won the second set.) No ranking points for his win over Niki - oh, well.
