Default Should Hawkeye challenges roll over from set to set?

I wouldnt be in favour of having a set number for the match, as some matches end up being longer (more sets) than others.

But why not have unused challenges roll over from set to set and so on?

Stupid idea. Imagine someone having 15 challenges remaining in a final set of a slam match.

Doubt fed would approve.

's right. We have to also throw into the mix. But I do not think it is currently the decisive factor. But he has achieved in my opinion too much. Maybe this is crucial if I move him even closer after major victories. But 14 or 17 Grand Slam titles is a significant difference. At the present time there is no question that he must be the greater player than me.

Sounds reasonable in theory -- if your challenges are correct, you don't lose a challenge; therefore why punish people who didn't use them up (by making bad challenges) by having them 'expire' at the end of the set

But on the other hand I can see how it could be abused. In the fourth set someone has 11 or 12 challenges and they keep invoking them to break their opponent's serve rhythm, get extra rest after long points, delay the game hoping that a forecasted rain delay will materialize, etc. Seems like there are a lot of players out there who will stretch rules to the limit (and beyond if they can get away with it) to gain an advantage.

What's the point, they have plenty already the way it is now. I've rarely seen someone run out, Murray at the AO this year maybe?

If you're wrong three times already in a set, you're pretty useless in using them anyway (uhum, Federer, uhum)

Should unused 2nd serves roll over from game to game to make it 3rd, 4rth and ... 13th serve ?

"Hey, Umpire, dont call it double fault! I have 14 unused 2nd serves from previous games, I have plenty of opportunities to get it in at last ! "
