My thoughts too He wasted a break point at 3:2 in the 2nd set and lost the concentration for 5 minutes. It really should have been 6-3 6-3.

At least Andy took a set.

Re: Indian Wells R3: Berdych def. Roddick 6-3 4-6 6-2
To be fair, A-Rod started hitting the ball a lot sharper in the middle of the second set. He started just hitting out after being pretty much embarrassed to that point. And it was working, he started hitting crisper and he started hitting more intelligently and moving Berdych out of position more. Tomas took his foot off the gas and stopped dictating play like he was throughout the first half of the match. He never really got his game all the way back and overall it was a very incomplete performance from the Czech, but a win is a win.

Roddick was 65 percent on first serves and 45 on second.
There was no way he had any right to win a set.

The same comment I wrote in the Fish thread applies to this...

Berdych had no business losing a set to current Duck.

Re: Indian Wells R3: Berdych def. Roddick 6-3 4-6 6-2
Berdych was great at moments and then horrible at others but this match doesn't really say much.
Roddick as always served well BUT his movement is entirely gone likely from the Australian Open injury. it's hard to tell if Andy is in decent form or not, but he could not run cross court for the life of him. Still recuperating clearly, he jogged to half the shots. Kind of astounding that Berdych took 3 sets to beat a Roddick that has no movement, or pretty limited movement

Re: Indian Wells R3: Berdych def. Roddick 6-3 4-6 6-2
Roddick pulled up on a forehand early in the third, right hip is my diagnosis. He played through it, but his movement was done.
Some positives for Roddick in that 2nd set, he served big again, and was hitting out on the forehand and even the shitty backhand.
Roddick needs to drop about 20 pounds no shit. I still believe he can be great, his game is still there. But his fitness is not.

Re: Indian Wells R3: Berdych def. Roddick 6-3 4-6 6-2
kubot with a faster serve would send roddick into retirement today.
roddick's brother injured himself all the time in tennis matches too, but roddick kept trying to get love and free money despite the knowledge that he was also a deeply troubled, mediore, junk food-binging unserious tennis player.
he's an emotional cripple and intellectually-inferior to his brother too.
there was no career the last 8 years, but he enjoyed using free tennis money to buy attention, women, and sport jobs.
