You are so wrong, his 2 handed bh has improved SIGNIFICANTLY compared to last year, and he's been avoiding those shots a lot LESS this year, can hit some clean winners from time to time. It might still be the weaker link, but he's definitely NOT avoiding the problem, I have no clue what you're talking about.

ryan spent almost the entire match running around the bh and/or slicing. the 2h bh remains a serious liability and doyle knows it. don't get me wrong, i think harrison's a good kid who works hard and says all the right things, but i simply don't see him as the next great american player. i suspect it will be someone else, a 'black swan' if you will.

What I'm saying is that even if you're American, you don't have to act like you're in a hive. I don't like Harrison, his game may be more well-rounded than others, but he does have a tendency to mug from the baseline. I'm not a fan of what others like to call his "competitive fire," because more often than not he seems like a brat. Maybe he'll mature, who knows. Whether it's Tomic, Harrison, or Kei, there's a lot of hype that flares up only to die down after a disappointing result.

Oh jesus, I'm usually better about assuming people will win, but fucking jinx- well, Ryan won't have to worry about Murray at all. Jesus.

Like one of the commentators said, probably the best i've seen Ryan play against a decently ranked player. Even though we all know that Troicki is a clown. But still.

My opinion on Ryan stands. He reminds me a lot of James Blake....when everything is firing, he can compete with the big dogs and crush mediocre players(or clowns like Troicki). Problem is, a lot of the things that work for him are high-risk plays, where if he's a little off on that day, any clown can beat him. Going for huge 2nd serves, random monster groundstrokes at a dumb time during a rally, dropshots(which he really isn't very good at), rushing the net(always dangerous in today's game, even if he can volley a bit). I mean, if he can do this stuff consistently then he can be a very damn good player. But that seems unlikely to me. But at least he is getting to where he can beat a guy like Troicki pretty darn convincingly.

Well i thought losing to Young was bad but to lose to GGL is just a WTFFACEPALMworthy reaction, IMO.

Well Rafa also lost GGL, and GGL is actually pretty good when he's playing well(which is hardly ever), so I still think the Young loss is worse.

I actually was just thinking about the match between rafa and ggl but at that time i really didnt expect that upset but now to think of it, he was pretty good IMO. Well to me its just weird how he can lose to two players who are not in the top 50 yet or one of them was in the top 50 but in a premier event i didnt expect this really again from murray but hopefully he can regain his focus.
