Nadal - At his strongest in the next two slams, still the favourite at RG and if he has a good clay season he can definitely carry that momentum on to a possible slam run at Wimbledon.

Djokovic - Shakier than last year, but he's still the man to beat. Not too sure he's capable of bagging RG, but I'd fancy his chances at Wimbledon and if he wins that I can certainly see a repeat performance at the USO.

Federer - He's playing rather well lately, but I still don't really like his chances at RG so he'll be left hoping for a good Wimbledon. He may find success there but his recent slam shakiness makes it hard to see him following up at the USO/AO given Djokovic's form.

The number of players who have retired while they still are in the top 5 is one and his name is Borg, players dont like to retire as long as they still have some energy deposit left to spend, most will play until they are forced to leave by might and body decay, almost no player choses to retire.

Djokovic does seem by far the most likely. I'm not confident about his chances of defending Wimbledon but either way he's a major threat at all 3 remaining Grand Slams this year and it wouldn't really be surprising if he takes 2 of them.

With Nadal winning Roland Garros is pretty much a must if he wants to take 2 more before the rest. I do think he's currently the best player on grass now regardless of losing to Djokovic in last year's final so I think he has a very good shot there providing he can avoid Djokovic as it's clearly a matchup issue. Don't like his chances at the US Open but given his results the last few years he's always a serious contender.

Interesting. So assuming Nadal gets through to the final on his half, which player or players do you see beating Djokovic in his half, that Nadal would still be able to beat? (Assuming they are still both #1 and #2 when Wimbledon starts)

Nole winning RG and therefore ending Claylobber dominance FOR EVER AND EVER!!!!!!

P.S. the only scenario that will make me stick with tennis once the GOAT goes out without winning the 17th...which is likely

Novak Djokovic.

Of the top 4 he will win the most slams from now on, possibly until the Serb hits his late 20s.

clay warrior will bring with him the knowledge of all that learned from last year. i believe that prepares him better for this season.

all he has to do now is get his fitness and his health right and its on.

once rg is in the bag, the probability of snatching wimbledon soars for him in 2012.

I'm inclined to say either Djokovic or Nadal.....Murray has to win at least 1 before we even begin to think about him winning 2. As for where:

Djokovic: RG 12, USO 12/AO 13
Nadal: WB 12, AO 13/RG 13

Fed could sneak in a slam somewhere but I wouldn't say that he'd win 2 before Nadal and Djoker win 2 more.

nadal

forget about the french open.....it's going to be a straight sets victory in the final.....whenever he won the french final in straight sets, he went onto win wimbledon as well.....

Granted, but do you believe once Murray wins one, two will be much easier?

I also don't see why so many people (the more objective fans ) are picking Mr. Djokovic for RG 12 over Nadal and/or Federer.
Djokovic has never made a final there (sort of like Murray never winning a slam...), even in his best year while on tremendous confidence building unbeaten streak. So what is it that makes one believe he will do it this year? Gut feeling?

Respectfully,

Nole for me.

I'm predicting Nole will take RG and US Open this year and Roger will take Wimbledon.
