Depends on Nole's form. If he is a little bit off, the match will take 3 hours. However if he is on, he will win in 2 easily.

i dont expect the clay warrior to be in the finals. and furthermore, i will pray that he gets killed in the quarters.

that is what he deserves for wasting his valuable time playing doubles again here. you just know he will be trying to win the doubles.

also i have no problem with the clay warrior losing early anyway: it might help him arrive at monte carlo a little more fresh and hungry.

so this is a party for NoDkok, murray, and fed.

i just made andy murray the favorite for the title in indian wells. i get the sense that this loss today really will drive him to excel in indian wells.

he will be in the final for sure. and then it is all about executing the game plan.

Why would you want him to lose in the quarters?! He needs to do well if he wants to keep Federer at bay and also if he wants to have any hope of catching Djokovic in the rankings. More than that IW & Miami are great surfaces for him - he should expect to get to the semis at least (unless he faces an on fire Isner/Raonic/Del Po - losses where he may not be able to control the match...).The doubles is good for him - he enjoys it, it gives him more time on court and he has a days rest at IW & Miami anyway so what else should he do with that time? Far better to get some practice at net than just usual practice court hitting.... He plans on playing doubles at the Olympics so it's also good for that.

No way to call it between Rafa, Nole and Andy - all great slow HC players. Fed will have to do really well to spoil their party. Confidence may help Fed but he was pretty confident when facing Rafa at the Aus Open and still lost. The matchup and the court speed matter.

I don't have a crystal ball, but I think Nadal's chances are very good particularly at IW. Surface is very slow and suitable for him and historically his results at IW have been superb. Only thing that makes me hesitant to predict a title here is that he hasn't played for a long time and there might be some lingering effect from yet another tough loss to Djokovic.

Federer and Djokovic (?) are not even playing Monte Carlo so why worry about that tournament already?

I think Djokovic confirmed in Dubai that he'll skip Belgrade and play Monte Carlo this year. Good decision from him though not good news for Nadal. He really should be able to beat him in MC but I'm sure Rafa would prefer not to have to battle for that title against Nole - adds an extra pressure when he's going for his 8th straight title....

i think what happens on clay this season is far more important than anything else to be honest with you. he is also injury prone as we all know. i would feel better if he loses early at both indian well and at miami masters.

he will have nothing left if he fucks up the clay season this year because of some injury he manages to contract on the harc courts just before monte carlo.

he will be rusty and he has always sruggled on hard courts on the average anyway. he can get his rocks off playing doubles.

losing early may sav him from an injury.

That will not increase his popularity in Serbia... If I was him, I would skip it - no need to battle Nadal there as well. Better take a rest to assault the real clay throne at RG.

imo Djokovic needs to play Monte Carlo because he is guaranteed to lose at least one of IW, miami, Rome, or Madrid. Those extra points in Monte Carlo will help him.

And as to decreasing his popularity in Serbia, that;s simply not possible.
