Default Who will benefit most from the extended grass season? Who will lose out?

Players who will likely get a boost:

Federer
Murray
Dimitrov
Cilic
Stakhovsky
Sijsling...

Players who'll suffer most:

Nishikori
Wawrinka
Ferrer
...

I left Nadal out since he'll still be able to take advantage of the clay season and has nothing to lose on grass.

Default Re: Who will benefit most from the extended grass season? Who will lose out?

Murray, Dimitrov to win multiple grass titles

Djokovic will might have to lose at SW19, this time at SF
Fed winning Halle again as usual

Nadal will lose at WB QF just to another youngster

Wawrinka going out in nice fashion around the same stage
not much change from last year, only that Murray might win Queens+WB if he can get back his grass mojo (and avoids Nadal at WB)

In the short-term? The players that enjoy high-bouncing, slow-courts. Long-term those same players if they are young enough and committed should welcome a longer grass season, as it can save their bodies from wear and tear, and also teach them good tactics at the net and attacking tennis in general.

Having said that, I doubt someone like Fognini will care about the extended grass season and will lose out on that time.

I think it'll help Janowicz too.

It will hurt Federer the most since Fed is the most natural grass court player out there and needs less time to adjust to the surface. So doing well at Wimbledon will be tougher for him this year.

Players like Dimitrov and Lopez will benefit most, since they can collect more points at the smaller tournaments.

Novak doesn't really benefit either he switches to other surfaces seamlessly and has never won Wimbledon playing a warm up tournament. If anything it give guys more time to prepare and get into form which gives them a much better chance to beat him. Though I don't think it's gonna make much difference.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if Rogie wins Halle, it'll be his 8th Halle title, and to the best of my knowledge, the most titles for Rogie at any single event.

It could benefit those who reach the final of RG. And a few extra points for those who do well at Queens/Halle. Other than that, not much: Ferrer vulturing Hertogenbosch as usual, lower tier players battling it out in Nottigham, the new Eastbourne.
