Daniel checks in this week at a career-high #286 ranking due to his good play at Caltanissetta. However, the ranking is short-lived. He will drop back to around 340 next week - losing 27 points (2011 Sacto Futures winner)without adding any from the Monza qualifying.

Looks like he sticks to clay in his next tournament (Panama City Challenger). After that, I guess he returns to hardcourts.

Revision: He's also on the entry list of the France Futures (week of June 18). Panama City is week of July 2. Good luck, Daniel. Keep fighting.

Might be better to stay in Europe longer since there are more challengers/futures available than the usual 1 per week on home soil. I wish that some of our juniors would venture elsewhere for futures events. It is probably easier to qualify somewhere else than going through 4 rounds of qualification here.

Good 4-week effort by Daniel and Blake. The tour concept is good ... get out of your comfort zone, see new places and new opponents, share costs, have moral support and a doubles partner. I think Britton and Krajicek did something similar earlier in the year. Other Americans try it too.
