Well guys our man has done us proud! Congrats Gilles! You are more than worthy of the championship. It's always hard being a Simon fan because nothing ever seems to come easy, but that just makes the victories that do come that much sweeter! So happy for him!

jumping quickly for celebration it was an easy tournament, had to win
but in the post match interview gilles said this type of situation is also dangerous
so, he held the pressure

It has been really an amazing day for me. Both my favorite in atp and wta won

So happy for Gillous, he definitely restarted to play great after the pissing injury but a win was what he really needed to face the european clay season at his best

good luck Gillou now for the further events, I'm gonna be there for u in Paris, like last year

Default Re: Clay season 2012, "Take Two" most definitely

I'm very happy with this week. Although ppl will argue that the field is a bit weak, but it's not his fault that the other 7 seeds didn't make it. And if you compare the seedings of this tournament to next week's, Bucharest is not particularly weak.

Code:
Estoril Seedings Munich Seedings Bucharest Seedings
1 Del Potro, Juan Martin ARG 10	1 Tsonga, Jo-Wilfried FRA 5	1 Simon, Gilles FRA 15
2 Gasquet, Richard FRA 18	2 Lopez, Feliciano ESP 16	2 Mayer, Florian GER 20
3 Wawrinka, Stanislas SUI 22	3 Cilic, Marin CRO 23 3 Troicki, Viktor SRB 30
4 Ramos, Albert ESP 43 4 Kohlschreiber, Philipp GER 33	4 Baghdatis, Marcos CYP 40
5 Istomin, Denis UZB 44 5 Tomic, Bernard AUS 35 5 Seppi, Andreas ITA 44
6 Haase, Robin NED 45 6 Youzhny, Mikhail RUS 36	6 Kubot, Lukasz POL 51
7 Montanes, Albert ESP 69	7 Davydenko, Nikolay RUS 41	7 Dodig, Ivan CRO 57
8 Cipolla, Flavio ITA 70	8 Baghdatis, Marcos CYP 42	8 Chardy, Jeremy FRA 59
The top seed doesn't always win, especially when it comes to Gilles, he often plays down to his opponents level against lower level opponents. And this week, he's fighting with himself, and fatique is very obviously in his matches. He's grumpy the whole week, even in the final where he's usually very calm and collect, today is the least tranquil final I've seen him play.

So in a way, I'm really thinking that he's accomplished something different this tournament. Not just winning the title but willing himself to perform according to the expectation of him in this tournament.

He'll be ranked 11 comes monday, but I think DelPo will past him after Estoril, which is no biggie. I hope the one week of resting is enough. If he manages good weeks in Madrid and Rome, I hope he has the good sense to take a breather before RG. But anyhow, it's been a good March and April for Gilles, really happy for him.

Non, ça ne vaut pas rien

Gille Simon

And this is the pic they use for this article.

Default Re: Clay season 2012, "Take Two" most definitely

L'Equipe today:

» – J. Re.

He said Monte Carlo was 10 times more fun but he's happier to win a title bcos in tennis, you rarely goes home without losing. He said he was very tired in the final, and he spent much time in the hands of the physiotherapist in Bucharest. So they asked about his schedule of potentially playing 5 weeks from Madrid to RG, he said he has no idea what to expect...

Ok, Gilles, please don't burn yourself out before RG even begins *finger-crossed*.

It's frustrating that it seems like he'll have to go through the rest of his career with injuries as it makes his results that much more unpredictable. Oh well, that's why we have to appreciate the times he's able to win even more. Hopefully he's healthy for the French-Wimbledon-Olympics swing, no need to overplay now so I hope he's smart and withdraws from Nice if he's tired.
