Default Is it really necessary to have a game named "suicide tennis" on this forum?

I dont know anything about this particular game, but I know there is a variety of games, ball based or drinking based called "suicide", so I assume it is something based on that.

It just really depresses me everytime I search through the board for a section and see that word used. Or any time for that matter the word is used in general conversation when it isnt asbolutely necassary to do so.

I had a dear childhood friend commit suicide last year, and every time I see that word it just reminds me of horrible feelings.

But, I also acknowledge that the planet doesnt revolve around me, and that many other horrible words have made their way into turn of phrases, like abortion, rpae etc.

But, I dont think you would see a game called **** tennis on this site. Well I know you wouldnt, cause that word is banned for some reason, so perhaps the discussion is worth having if some higher powers feel certain words arent appropriate to use on this site, or other than the intended main meaning. Im not suggesting for a minute that the word be banned from the site for what its worth.

Im also not advocating the removal of the game or anything like that. Was jus curious how many other people might be in favour of re naming it to something more appropriate?

Hope this thread didnt come across as precious. But I cant be the only one who feels this way.

Expanding your horizons now are ye?

I've never had any beef with the name of that game.. it pretty much perfectly describes how you're playing the game.

Tennis Tipping on the other hand is a cruel name for a game, for a cheapskate like myself.

It's fine, no need for it to be PC, Partial-birth abortion tennis is a fine name if its creator wants it

No words should be censored btw

It's called suicide tennis because you virtually kill yourself if you pick a wrong player. Calling it Mickey Mouse tennis would maybe make you feel better, but certainly it wouldn't describe the game.

Sure thing man.

So, the word raype is not allowed to be shown on this site.

So that proves that at least some people think certain words have no place out of context.

Im sure you disagree with that word being blacklisted, frankly so do I.

But the discussion is worth having.
