Default Can Roger do what Agassi did in his 30s?

There's no doubt that Nadal and Djokovic are probably the two fittest athletes on the ATP at the moment and being 5-6 years younger than Federer helps them quite a lot in their matches against him. If Roger underwent the rigorous training regimen that Andre Agassi undertook in his 30s, can Roger become more competitive against the Top 2? Or will too much exercise have a negative impact on his play style?

Maybe.

People need to stop comparing every player over 30 to Agassi though. The guy spent a good deal of his 20s enjoying himself.

Ajde.

Well first he'd have to do meth, and that appears to be unlikely to happen.

Default Re: Can Roger do what Agassi did in his 30s?

Roger, like he and many other experts said, feels like he is en the best form of hes life. And I bealive them, and him. So, that means that he is still peaking, and he is playing against Nole and Rafa at hes peak. Not like, when Rafa and Nole first came to the scene, and in Nole's case, Roger won the first 4 matches while Nole was a headcase and teen. Its not like, back than, when Roger was in hes peak prime (like he is now) where he had huge advantage over teens. Nole and rafa don't have as big advantage against peak federer now, like he did against them the first 4 years of their carrers. So shut up fedtards. I know its hard to swollow, that noone sees federer as a GOAT exept hes own fans. It must be frustrating, that he is not even GOAT in hes own era:-) And when he finishes his carrer, his h2h against both rafa and nole will be negative...

Appalling grammar and spelling aside, one has to wonder if you're really 28.

Good point. It's not like there are dozens of players who did what Agassi did.

People here saying Fed is the same player he was 5/7 years ago are living in blind denial... go watch some videos please, you just seem to have followed tennis since 2008...

I don't know why Sampras' Fans always says Federer has no opponents and pre-Federer era (2000-2003) is too weak.

But actually last 3 GS (All Australian Open) of Agassi won in that era.

when it comes to himself, Roger mainly thinks of keeping a positive attitude, he doesn't have to be an "objective analyst" of himself, he has to make his best and for that, he needs to stay very positive.

As for the experts, many experts say no ... despite the fact that the clear interest of the experts is saying that he's in the greatest form of his life to attract interest to tennis

Anyway, the truth is obvious for all who watch. That doesn't change the fact he's not the Goat, I agree with you on that despite being a Fedfan, but no he's not at all the player he was in 2005-2006 He's old and lives his old age very well, making his h2h more negative to Nadal and Djokovic is good as it shows he still reaches the final stages of tournaments.

As for comparing with Agassi, they're very different, esp Agassi had a great backhand and didn't have to move that much in the end of his carreer, while Roger has always been good because of turning his backhand to play a forehand.

Moreover, the competition now on top is clearly much better than when Agassi got old.
