Why would you be surprised? He went to Valencia at 15 to train and was based there for years. Worked with Altur for years and now has another Spanish coach Fogues.

Unfortunately, these kind of losses have become the norm for Verdasco. I still remember the days when he was a top 10 player as if it was yesterday.
