A marathon is a long distance running event where the runners only run in one direction: forwards.

A tennis match requires more than running and the running is not done in one direction.
This bit of information explaining why the comparison with a marathon is daft, is kindly offered to the confused minds with the attention span of a goldfish.

True.

That and the old man giving us some gems in his interviews.

Because, there is no other nonsense from Fedtard fanbase.

Pick a thread, any thread and you'll see the nonsense dripping from your screen.
The best ones are those claiming to have superior knowledge while portraying an amazing amount of ignorance.
(among the Rafatards, I'd put CD in that category)

Silly and delusional was the nicest stuff I called them on that single hand backhand thread, still think that now. I never criticised Fed for his DC attitude either.

Nadal and Djokovic take too long between points it's simple. Has nothing to do with their abilities as tennis players or achievements. So it should be written for them specifically in the rule book they can take longer than their opponents.

The umpires have to enforce the rules when the average time taken is 30 seconds, that's against the rules. Unlike the coaching one, this is easy to enforce. It's not hard, if they don't enforce it then they will continue.

Tennis was a "technical sport" originally. Grinders of today are changing it to suit their lack of technique and would want the rules to be changed? WTF! At this rate I can see Italy asking to reduce the footie goals size to 1x1 meter so their catenaccio could me more effective

Sports have rules. You can't live with them? Then change sport and stop trying to change the rules.

Daddy will be around for a few more years for sure, Olympic Gold or not, he said he's not going to quit any time soon as he loves the game sooooooooo much and the love won't just disappear all of a sudden.

How nice of our pro-Fedtard mod with only a slight bias against Djokotards and Rafatards to turn up in an instant.

The GM thread is too long for my goldfish attention span btw.

Ah, and I see that our pro-Fedtard mod is providing Exhibit A in the bias department.

Isnt funny how an arbitrary rule, made for TV big belly bosses has became all of the sudden the last bastion of the fair-play in tenis?

The same with indoor hard, the last place where you can play "proper" tennis

Give me a break

i object to the description of georgie porgie as "slightly biased". everyone knows that all of his opinions are only based on facts and superior rational thinking that originates in his maleness, leaving no room to be swayed by stupid things like looks etc., and are therefore completely free of bias.

So the rules shouldn't be enforced? Yes or no, irrespective of the player.

It was cause Lendl's over the top timewasting they reduced it from 30 seconds and play is meant to be continous.

Arbitrary rule made for TV big belly bosses? Tennis rules have been written way before the first black&white TV, your trolling knows no bounds here :clapclap:

Used to be a whole minute between serves, no?

I remember the tv gods going crazy at the USO match between mats and Ivan.

Nice to see the "almagro wins" thread starter come to enlighten the girls.

There Is more than one "rule" players break without anyone caring. I had a big discussion with a guy about whether a foot fault should be called each time it occurred. So even fans don't agree about rule enforcement.

Fed tho has his horses to beat and he does it routinely. He's mastered the art of wrapping a turd in a compliment.

That's not what that thread really is about and if you step back from it, you'd know that.

If you or others were so keen on respecting the rules and all the rules, the debates on GM would be totally different. Most of the posters don't give a shit about the rules but they're just grabbing each opportunity to bash player and fanbases of those players. Fair enough on a forum perhaps but let's not kid ourselves about what that debate is about.

That thread is full of nonsense and a total tards vs tards extravaganza but by calling out only Rafatards and Djokotards for being silly and blind in their defence (as you have been doing a lot lately for some reason) while staying totally quiet on all the utter nonsense written by others - esp. as a moderator, you're showing your bias. I can understand that sort of bias from fans and tards but a moderator should be able to smell the on both ends or just not enter the debate at all.

But he is acting like the "nice" guy, Andreea. The one who is keen on having more respect for the sport, for the umpires to start enforcing the rules,...the defender of the noble sport and how it should be played against the evil destroyers.

How is that not Rogie being his holy self with the added bonus of a subtle dig at Rafa.
He's been doing that (not just to Rafa but to all his main opponents) for years. Gamesmanship. That's what that is. If he'd really be concerned about the rules, he'd tackle the issue in a different way.
As I said earlier, he knew what he was doing by specifically mentioning Rafa.
