No. 74 will be a reality sometimes between Halle and the Olympics. Maybe 75 also. Until then, I will only hope for Roger to defend his points.

ROGER FEDERER: No, Roger Federer doesn't pull out. Otherwise he doesn't walk on court (smiling).
After losing to Nalbandian in 2005 TMC final...

Re: The Century King : 100 Titles For The King Of Switzerland, Roger Federer
i cant make that call yet cd, i have to see how he plays harrison first...i think fatigue will play a part in miami...after i see what he does with harrison, then i can make the call, i would rather he play harrison and roddick close, cause if he breezes thru those, it just means he will falter later on at the latter stages of the tournament...
It means he will get better as the tournament goes on, right now my attitude is a "win is a win".....if he gets to the semi's and beats nole, then the title is feds...

his route to the semis is pretty much obstacle free.

Oh, it's Fed, i never give up on him, even when he's play Nadal and you know he has that losing record against him. Fed gives me eternal hope, i love everything about his game so he could never disappoint me, unless he just gave up and didnt try and he wouldnt even show up if that's the case...
The only reason why i am a little cautious is cause he's played a lot of tennis lately and has been going deep or outright winning so his body has got to be tired....
Let's get thru his first match and see how the body is holding up.

I have never gave up on him. I know that if he plays his best he will always win against anyone (and that includes both Nadal and Djokovic).
He has a very good chance to win this and than he will have a well-deserved rest until Madrid.

he is not playing doubles like that blundering buffoon (clay warrior) and he usually needs just 90 minutes to end their dreams.
no way he is going to be fatigued at that rate.

Yes but this doesn't always turn out to be the best thing for all players. Fed usually does better when he has a tough test prior to facing one of the big four. Being ill last week and winning 6 matches im sure took a lot out of him not to mention he played dubai then fast tracked it to the states to play that exho and all. Its gotta be exhausting and im sure we'll see some "flatness" here in miami. I would love to see him riddle with errors against harrison and roddick but get through those matches. Like another poster said less likely to happen later if it happens earlier. I think all of fed's momentum and winning streak will get him through cause his belief and confidence will be so high.
For me, roger getting to the semis is a solid result. He'll defend his points. I have a feeling rafa after playing back to back singles/doubles both on hard court at indians wells/miami may regret that and skip a clay event like barcelona or better yet madrid so he'd be fresh for the french. Something tells me rafa will play everything like usual because fed is so close to the number 2 rank.

Re: The Centurian : The Swiss King--Roger Federer-- In Charge of 100 Titles
i am watching no-djok now.
a semifnal showdown between fed and no-djok is brewing. say hello to title #74 if fed can get to the final and find murray or dr hi rise across the net.
only those warriors who risk going too far are the ones who get to find out how far they can go. 100 titles anybody?
the rest of you just need to sit around and suck on your popcorn while the true warriors of the sports world explore new frontiers and break new ground.
and watch all this unfold. dont forget to watch. and read this thread.

its like this general abraxquach: i make the adjustments where they are needed and when they are needed.
go back a few pages and see what happened. i installed fed not as a favorite but a definitive title holder the second murray went down. rapidly changing conditions call for even more rapid adjustments.
i was reading too much into murray`s win over no-djok in dubai. murray will never change and i am not going to have much confidence in him again until he actually wins something big.
so here is the deal:
if fed can get into the final, you can say hello to #74 as long as he does not have to face the clay warrior.
so it if is murray or dr hi rise (isner) in the final against fed, #74 is hurrying near.
stay tuned.

Re: The Centurian : The Swiss King--Roger Federer-- In Charge of 100 Titles
Djokovic-Federer is going to be one hell of an epic, both are in great form. I agree the winner here should bag the title, Nadal could be a problem for Federer in the final but both Djoko and Federer should take care of Murray in the final after surviving a big battle between them, whoever wins such a match will be riding on a wave of confidence to the final.

that is what i am thinking too. i do believe that fed, in his current form, has the game to derail no-djok. he will know exactly what to do.
you can't try to rally with this guy(no-djok) from the backcourt on hard courts. you have to take time away from and you have to attack.
and you have to take care of your serve 90%-92% of the time. fed is doing that right now with consistency.
finally fed presents a huge problem when he goes to the net: he can actually put those balls away that are begging to be put away.
so if he plays like he knows how and like he has to against no-djok, he wins. he gets killed if he doest not serve well and if he tries to deal with him from entirely the baseline.

With his current game, Federer has what it takes to win Miami.
