He should skip DC, it's a worthless event.

I agree. A title in Shanghai, Basel and WTF would be much more important. He's had a long season and he's 31 already. He needs some rest.

What is most likely to happen is that Nole wins Year End #1 and you will be running around and crying again like a little girl Federer is not winning anything bigger than ATP 500 for the rest of the year

It's pretty obvious Nole will be #1 at the end of the season... he already has a big advantage, with a chance to improve if he wins the final against murray, and plays more tournaments than federer till the end of the year.
I wouldn't write off Fed at the WTF though if I were you.

Once upon a time there was a myth about strong and weak eras. On this glorious day the clownery was eventually unmasked: 30 y.o. past-prime daddy Fed became #1 once again in the supposed strong "Spartan" era with his rivals at their peak.
And they all lived happily ever after.
Long live King Federer!
17 Grand Slam titles
7 Wimbledon titles
302 weeks at #1

Re: Federer : The Mother Of All Quests : 20 Slams And 100 Titles.
So, people, what do we think about the chances of #77 in Shanghai? Obviously, he may be tired but if Djoker actually has some competition in his ATP 500 walkover the week before Shanghai, he might be tired.
Any info on the surface?

Re: Federer : The Mother Of All Quests : 20 Slams And 100 Titles.
lmao, federer has no chance on the blue clay of shanghai
asia is murray's turf. nadal is MIA, after the tasty bagel he got last year. djokovic doesn't give a shit about these mug tournaments, and rightly so
murray to defend shaghai, old legs' next tournament will be in basel
then he's throwing away points like a nonce throwing sweets to kids by skipping pairs
clearly doesn't care about year end no 1, wants to leave sampras with at least one record

Re: Federer : The Mother Of All Quests : 20 Slams And 100 Titles.
murray's form has been shit for what he's won. Won the US Open because of tired djokovic in the 5th. The world #1 has displayed much better form except for the QF match at the US Open.
If Roger comes out to play he has a good chance of winning shanghai. The problem is his motivation may very well not be high since he may have been pressured by the sponsors to play.
In the end I think title #77 will come in Basel with #78 coming in this years ending championship.
Allez Roger!!!!

I would love for Federer to win the year as the number 1 player. But I don't want him to overplay now, especially since he has achieved so much this season. An early loss at one of the next 4 tournaments will determine the outcome (provided that Djokovic plays well, or Murray goes on a perfect run)
