What's up with these solid scorelines from Fogmaestro whenever Rafito is in his draw.

That Rafa lost to this guy twice in a row is already absolutely magical. Three times, and Rafa should retire.

It helps that Madrid is a joint ATP/WTA event as well.

Default Re: Madrid R1: Fabio Fognini def. Santiago Giraldo 6-2 6-3

Giraldo just couldn't find the court most of the match in the windy conditions and Fabio handled them better, playing well and he coasted to a set lead.
Then at about 4-1 in the second, Fabio, who had looked very bored, played an awful service game to be broken for 4-2, and gave Giraldo a bit of hope, and Giraldo made it 4-3, but then Fabio fought off 0-40 in an over 8 minute game saving at least 4 or 5 break points and held for 5-3, and broke Giraldo to take the match.

Fognini - W: 23 UE: 29 (many errors were after he had commanding lead in the second)
Giraldo - W: 08 UE: 28

Respectfully,
masterclass

Fognini looked completely bored and uninterested during the match and still dominated. So much talent.

All Fog needs is Rafa in his half at rg (with rafa crusing through weak draw) and Fog could make his first slam F.
