Worst crowd performance I#ve ever seen.
Absolutely disgusting. Mayer got stolen.
I hope next year they won't play in this nationalistic racist place. Are we in 1944?
A really sad day for tennis.

Yes, Layhani could have done more, but Mayer winning is the best way to shut any hostile crowd. Not like hostile crowds haven't happened in Brazil before. It's part of the game in the Latin American events and has to be dealt with.
In Chile maybe (at least the Paulistas didn't start throwing chairs), Argentinian crowds also go a bit too far (especially in DC) and I still think it's wrong, but never something like this. It's not even that this was an important match. Again, there has to be a limit somewhere, what do you think the limit should be?

Exactly, he would love it, he's comfortable being the pantomime villain and it would be hugely entertaining. Although I would expect there to be numerous breaks in play with the crowd baying for his blood.

It wasn't Layhani (who would have done something for sure) , but a completely useless and pathetic umpire.

mugro would definitely love this

would be worse for bellucci probably, would have bigger chances to win with a silent and sleepy crowd

the pumped up mugro with all the crowd against him against a headcase like bellucci, this wont end well for the brazilian

I'm not sure which umpire it was, but Lahyani is my favorite umpire, so I'd recognize him.

The pressure of the crowd is part of the sport. What can't happen is screaming during the point, what didn't happen.

How on earth can you mix up the clown in the chair today with the best umpire on the tour?

It is like mixing up Collina and Webb just because they both have shaved heads.

I am sure there were a few points where screaming didn't happen. But not many.
