I'm just happy he won the match, I was very pessimist and all these occasions wasted...it was not an easy 1st round after the very good week of Janowitz.

I think it could be easier for Arnaud against Fisher but it will obviously depend of the level of the 2 players. A day to rest that's a good point.

7-5 7-5
Another quaterfinal! I followed only first set, Arnaud had problems at converting break-points at 6-5*, but broke from the 5th attempt (thank god no tb). Next set was breakfest and Arnaud served first, so he rebroke three times, nice mental effort.

Schoorel is not in a great form, played two difficult matches against Oswald and Sidorenko, so there is a nice chance tomorrow.

The surface is slow so Schoorel loves that it's indoor but near clay court game. Tough match for me towards the surface. I think it's only his 3 tournament since his comeback from injury but I think Schoorel is the slight favorite then Arno is motivated this week and he will battle Good luck to him

today mp

Finally some words on facebook

Quote:
He's more happy with his forehand and feel in a good shape but still get some problems with his serve.

Schoorel is impressive on serve since the start of the week Arno will need to make a very good match and serve very well.

In the article today he explains that it was a tough match with a lot of rallies so he was a bit exhausted at the end but realy to have win that match. http://www.saint-lo.maville.com/spor...13314_actu.Htm and a video http://www.saint-lo.maville.com/spor...13229_actu.Htm

Difficile, on a beaucoup couru cet après-midi. »

I had the feeling that Schoorel would be the winner especially with that surface and after Arno already got 2 tough matches. I don't think it's a bad loss for Arno 2012 version just a pity this year he can't win a match where he's the underdog Well he's still around 150# the matches he won doesn't give him many points. Now 2 weeks to prepare Miami qualies and hope to make the cut for Le Gosier two nice places to go

Then the clay season will surely not be a fest About The RG WC I was checking who is out of top 100 at that time
http://www.atpworldtour.com/Rankings...012&r=0&c=FRA# and well if none of that guys crack the top 100 before the RG cut it won't be easy to give that WC A lot of names for few WC

I thought he was already in the draw for the Challenger in Guadeloupe ! He will get a WC if it's not the case for sure...

Arnaud makes the promotion of the tournament and announces he will be there http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCLMK...ure=youtu.be&a

The cut for Le Gosier will be monday It looks that many guys wants to play it. I assume the WC has already been given to Ouanna, Mina and Olivetti http://www.openguadeloupe.com/joueurs.php But as you said he's announced and hopefully he should be ranked enough high for the DE.

They have posted the video of the last game of the match and Arno not happy with one call.

Arnaud on facebook:
A bientôt. ”

He says that wasn't a bad match, even his best this week! Just Schoorel was stronger.
One week off then Miami!

you know what, i really am not familiar with the challenger tour. we don't hear much of that in our down under land, even though there are actually some challenger tournaments here.

then i take a look at the atp challenger page, i saw you could run one for as low as $35,000 prize money... i thought, maybe i could afford that. i could set up a Via's tournament, get everyone to work for free (volunteers), try not to pay any appearance money, then players like arno would be happy to come!!!!! whoa..........

anyone for that idea? got a spare $35,000 to spend?

Why not? Just buy the license from another place like the Djokovic family did.
As long as you bring the money there should be no problem at all imo.

But we don't have the money anyway

As expected the cut for Le Gosier is high and Arno only 7#ALT but we can expect some withdrawals from players still in Miami. Then I don't see him playing qualies there so let's hope he will enter the draw.

About his new racket it's a Prince Exo 100 if you like the technicals details more info there http://www.ubitennis.com/sport/tenni...tensione.shtml

$35000 is just a small sum... many people have a higher yearly salary than that (though you'll have to save it, not spend it) if you don't have it, you can still borrow that money, like buying a new car. come on gals, we have to buy a tournament so that we can give arno all the wild cards that he needs

it really hits home how the lower tier is so much lesser than the top tier in tennis. a 100 ranking places difference means you're working for peanuts. even with that little outlay, you don't see towns and cities fighting to host a challenger, it is not going to make money from the average fan.

Even the numbers 50-100 don't earn that much according to Stakhovsky, so I don't want to imagine what it's like for the challenger level.
