He's still in Bergamo list for next week let's see if he'll go there. No news about WC in Marseille but PHM also request one and two WC for 30 years old guys is too much imo He entered the Marseille doubles with Dlouhy who have a strange schedule tbh
Well a lot of news and video this week but just one win.

Re: Winter/Spring Hardcourt Season 2012
Of course we are used but we are still following
Donskoy served very well during last two sets very powerful so the vintage Arno didn't manage to win that Arno still miss the little plus to make the difference which is maybe the youth ?
Arno says he thinks he was better in the third but didn't take advantage of the nervosity of Donskoy and made some stupid errors. It was a good fight he didn't feel pain in his calf and was moving quite well after that long break. It's a pity to stop here but Quimper will stay the place of his first win of the season.
Quote:

Re: Winter/Spring Hardcourt Season 2012
3:6 6:4 6:4.
It was really nice to see Arnaud fightning back from 0-1 down in sets, we don't see it too often nowadays. He seemed confident and moved quite well, Heliovaara couldn't sometimes finish his attacks (he didn't expect old body to behave so nice today ). But the big problem remains closing the set and the match. This time he was lucky to close out the second set after facing a break-point, but in the third set Arnaud failed to do it from the first attempt (fortunately, he made two breaks before)! Of course it was only Heliovaara, but Arnaud can still win matches, can endure battle with younger opponent. We'll see what he can do tomorrow against Fischer after this difficult match.
And he finished today with an ace, also rare day!

Re: Winter/Spring Hardcourt Season 2012
It was not a good match from both players. In the first it was poor from Arnaud with a lot of errors.
It was better in the last 2 sets with some really beautiful points, he moved well but the return was not very effective today and his opponent served aces in the key moments. Arno served quite well except the DF at 5/2 in the 3rd...I don't think he will be tired by the match because in the first two sets there were more faults than exchanges between the players. But a win is a win and maybe it could give him some confidence, Arnaud's first rounds are always complicated
He must play really better if he wants to get a chance against Fischer. He play again tomorow 5H30 PM

Re: Winter/Spring Hardcourt Season 2012
Well my opinion will be more harsh than yours Is he comes in Bergamo for training sessions ? Very strange match imo . At the begining He was trying to play a very aggressive game with short exchanges which lead him doing many EU. He was not moving very well in defense and was slower than usual. It's as if he had plan to test things maybe because of injury ? Well Bergamo is not so far from Geneva so why not come then it was really a strange match from Arno not only bad but as if he got something wrong don't know if it was mentally or physically Then He tried more in second and third set but bad match overall. Heliovaara made tons of UE at crucial points.
Tomorrow Arno will need better shape or better mood as i never saw him happy after a good point today. Then I don't find he was moving well like you he was very cautious imo
A pic of Arno before the match https://twitter.com/#!/MarcoCaldara/...453888/photo/1 What's wrong guy ?

I still think it was a nice match from Arnaud after an injury not in France . he started slow, yes, but was quite good later. Fischer is beatable.

I agree with you he seemed not motivated, not at ease, not happy to play late (?). We'll see tomorrow if it will be different.
I think it was not so bad in some areas if we forget the 1st set but very irregular, there were some good points among a lot of errors. In the 3rd set he was able to run fastly to catch some difficult balls at the net for instance even when he was very far but he has probably always a fear about his calf or pain.

Sounds like we watched different games. Maybe it's because I had low expectations and was too happy with this win, so didn't notice all these troubles . Heliovaara made a lot of stupid mistakes, but sometimes it was Arnaud who forced them with good defence!

I didn't see it, but I think Fat Camel watches Arnaud with my eyes. Too happy with a win and blind when it comes to Arnaud's bad shape

Well there was his level I'm OK he did some good things but I was more in troubles with his behaviour who was far away from hapiness and big motivation When he hits this great overhead to get BP in the third he went back to his baseline as if it was fault Well bad day can happen hope he's fine for next day more fight and more pleasure on court.

Re: Winter/Spring Hardcourt Season 2012
He says it was a complicated match, he never really found his rythm.. He explains he did not train at all in Bergamo before the match ! The essential is to be in 2nd round & he hopes his level will be better for next match.
So Soulage you were not far from the truth for the training session (lol).
