Rotterdam R2 : Davydenko def Mathieu 6-4 6-7 (7) 6-1
The second set was the only worthy one.
Davydenko still looks painful, lacks confidence so much, often grumbles, misses easy shots while still being able to play some great rallies.
Mathieu obviously lacks competition but he fights great, he has a lot of desire and belief after all the efforts he's made to come back.

second set tiebreaker was a choking race for both, but Davy proved the better choker and after fighting hard from 2-6 down he DFed at 7 all to gave away a mini break and the set. 
3rd set PHM returned the favor and nicely choked with 2 DFs to gave away a break of serve
Davy DF on his first MP but still hold to win the match 
Second set was very entertaining to watch with some great rallies for both. PHM's level dropped in 3rd and Davy took it easily. |

In Montpellier after his loss against Nieminen Paulo said that he wasn't used anymore to play on night session...looks like it was the same story here.
