O2's court has the traditional speed of proper indoor courts (of 2010s). A pity Monaco didn't qualify to WTF, we saw in Kuala Lumpur what a beast he's on these proper indoor courts. In 2010s, best clay players are also best indoor players.

It's exactly the same as Bercy.

Interesting things were said by Kamil Capkovic. He's a Slovak journeyman player, but he plays these challenger tournaments in Europe and Asia, and now speaks about Bratislava, one of the top challengers on tour.

Many players say that court is quicker that it used to be.
Certainly a lot. Here on centre court was specially slow surface which suited to me pretty well. But today I played good on the quicker one too, so it is okay.
Are there any differences between centre court and the court 3 or training courts?
Well, they painted the centre court first. And when we were practising on it, we said that it is really quick, so they tried to make the other courts slower a little bit. But at the end, all courts are almost the same, still.
Are courts speeded up here because of first seed, Lukas Lacko? He is know that he likes fast conditions and he proved that today against Bachinger.
I don´t think so, really. ATP has now tendency to slow down the courts. Everywhere, even indoors are not what they used to be and this all because of fans, they like longer rallies more, they (ATP) said. Slovak Tennis Association wanted something slower, and when that paint is mixing it is so hard to predict if the court will be fast or not. It is done quite accidentally, to be honest.
Re: "Speed up the courts and general court speed Thread"
On the BBCs recap of day two at the O2 they had a reasonably long discussion about court speeds changes. Pat Cash went off on one about the short sighted program of universally slowing down of courts.
He said there has to be a compromise and a correct balance because homogenous surfaces will kill the game off as a sport of skill and variety.

Re: "Speed up the courts and general court speed Thread"
Let's take into account than these days tennis players are more athletic, so they can defend balls that years ago were winners. This seems take no effect on clay. Now clay appears to be faster, there are more aces and points are shorter. But this could be explained on the basis of the better athleticism too: stronger playeres, better rackets, etc.
Watching matches in TV could be misleading too, because big tft screens tend to make the ball movement slower (apparently).

Re: "Speed up the courts and general court speed Thread"
The excuse makers blame the strings and court speed, but they can't explain why there are players like Janowicz, who have great variety (dependable serve, dropshots, slice) and there are others (Federer, Murray) with success but overrated games (flat serve, physical quickness, fitness).
Re: "Speed up the courts and general court speed Thread"
talking about speed and courts , today in a sport newspaper pat cash said that a player like delpo who made than powerful shots must win but the balls and surfaces are very slow and djokovic can return many balls.
and because many players are fastiadiate with the speed of the courts and balls , the next year in australia the ball will be more faster again.
Re: "Speed up the courts and general court speed Thread"
basically , he say that if the courts would be more fasters , players like nole/murray/nadal wouldn`t capable of winning to many titles in fast courts and they would lose much more against players like delpo , federer , berdych , tsonga and more...
this is an era og physicall tennis and pusher , and the slow courts helps this physicall tennis and kill the real tennis
