Re: "Speed up the courts" thread
It's still slow as hell. Nadal also has some interesting court positioning going on there, he's setting himself up to hit more forehands than backhands. Probably to lure a player into hitting it to the ad court so he can chase it down and do cc forehands on the run.

I think it was Chiudinelli who said that Federer was the worst during practice. He'd tank everything. On the other hand, there's a video of Simon practicing with Del Po in the USO 2009 where they sustained a rally ball for 1:30. Not sure how this video is indicative of Nadal's form.
Looks like he's getting ready to hit a lot of inside-out forehands this week.

Re: "Speed up the courts" thread
Hard to tell from a practice video but apparently Nadal's session today wasn't much better:

If only he knew that he shouldn't tease most of MTF with statements like that.

Re: "Speed up the courts" thread
Haha, nice one Nadal
It would be nice if you sit out of clay season of course J/K...
I think it will help Nadal to go under everyone's (including his own) radar here. In Miami, all eyes are on Djokovic - whether he can get back on his 2011 track and Federer's supposed renaissance. The surface seems still very slow and it will benefit Nadal. Its one of his best surfaces, not just on HCs and its really amazing he hasnt won this title even once before, in spite of making 3 finals.

Re: "Speed up the courts" thread
Ohhh, you can never count Nadal out of nothing.
He could be in his worst moment and hit a perfect banana-shot to destroy his opponent's mind.
Then break, break, set, break, break match.
Rafa is always hiding a gun.

Re: "Speed up the courts" thread
He read the "Next Navratilova" thread and has seen the light.
ETA: He has never won Miami? I find that surprising, that's his breakout tournament.

Re: "Speed up the courts" thread
Just watched Nadal's practice video. Yes, the surface looks more or less as slow as IW, but the ball is travelling like a ROCK. So much ado about nothing then.
Interesting how many balls Nadal was missing there. Of course, we cant really look into it as an indicator of how he will play when the tournament stars but clearly, his confidence isnt very good. May even have taken a hit watching Indoorer adjust to cyclonic winds better than him I certainly hope so
But hey, he may even be mimicking Fed's practice sessions so as to replicate his on court results of the last 6 months This Rafito is clever

Re: "Speed up the courts" thread
Rafa's fire looks a bit gone, but again, it is only a practice session.
Old Nadal wouldn't even joke about something like this via twitter. Damn, he and Borg's career's are so similar...

Re: "Speed up the courts" thread
Surprising high serves stats on the outer courts. Center court still slow.
How this shit is possible in a "1000" tournament? oh wait it was the same last year at the USO.
American tennis in huge decline indeed.
