January 16 - Nico went up from 65 to 61.

Of course, with this loss to Simon, he'll lose the points from last year that he had to defend so he'll probably go back down to 65 again.

I'm hoping that he can make it back up to the top forty.

Gaby and he want top twenty.

Well, I guess they have their work cut out for them then...The LA swing of clay courts is coming up so maybe Nico will find his stride there. He look good and did well in Auckland so hopefully he'll get that form back. It would be great to see him do well in his home town of Vina del Mar.

January 30 - huge hit in the rankings - down to 69 because of the first round loss at the Oz Open.

Ahhhh....shhhhh...we can't jinx him.

Already he'll go up to the high 60's. And if he wins today, probably like #58 depending on how the other do around him.

He's getting there.
