I think a matter of experience separated these two terrific fighters, Djokovic had already played similarly long matches against Baghdatis and Stepanek, besides he had beaten Federer twice in shorter but even more demanding mentally US Open semifinals. Murray on the other hand, had played only two matches which barely hit the 4-hour mark, and in both cases the 5th set was lopsided. He'd been at 5 all in the 5th only once before, last year against Troicki, but it was a resuming match so the tension was different than in a match with similar scoreline when you are constantly running on the court 3 or 4 hours.

Once Murray watches the match he will see how much strides he has made. Although, it is heartbreaking in one respect, and the wait for a British player to win a slam continues. Somehow, at the same, I couldn't help feel heartened after seeing him fight so hard, complete contrast compared to last year. The match started very slowly but in the end it was far superior match than the other semi.

I am convinced more than ever that Murray has all the tools and fight to win a major. He threw the kitchen sink at djokovic except the 4th set, and that was his major undoing IMO. Andy suprisingly made more forehand winners and was dictating from that wing after the 1st set. The forehand is so much better than before. However, one big weakness that remains is the 2nd serve, especially against Nole.

Djokovic is definitely in a territory of his own, in terms of being super clutch on the biggest points. I remember that gigantic point at 30-40 at 5-5. Just insane DTL FHs. Djokovic is just continuing his add tales and slowly rising among the pantheon of tennis greats. Congrats to Nole, he played wonderful and deserved it in the end. I will definitely watch the replay of the 5th set.

I like Djokovic, but god his antics were so disgusting in the third. I know he had true problems to breath but when you see his body langage in the last two sets, I think he's exaggerating his pain when he is in trouble and has no solutions.

For the game, I am disappointing by the way Novak did play in the 3 first sets. Waaaaaaay too passive. Murray was doing everything. More winners from Murray than from him is quite shoking for me.

Anyway, I never thought before this AO Nadal would stand a chance, now he's my favorite for the final. And I hope he'll win.

Actually Novak had more winers in the end(49:47), and was superior in all stat's segments, except fastest serve.

Yeah, while I'm very disappointed there are some good things to take away from this. It was nothing like last year and hopefully Murray won't go off on a losing streak like before, and build on this instead. I do feel like he's getting closer.

First of all Murray is a great player but a very unlucky one, Fed got Flip in his first slam final. Rafa got Puerta. Djokovic got Tsonga. Murray always runs into one of the GOAT (Fed, Rafa, Djok) in his slam semis and Fs. Murray never gets a freebie, if Murray were as lucky as the Big 3 and got like a Soderling, Tsonga, Monfils, Roddick in his first three slam finals he'd have three. Just tough bad luck for Murray. Today he played the match of his life. Awe inspiring effort by Andy. Djokovic is an unbeatable machine playing arguably the best tennis in history, having surpassed the level of the two GOATS Fed and Rafa. Murray was equal terms with Djok today. it came down to the end. Who wants it more? Murray's box let him down. Lendl and Kim and crew were sitting there like zombies. At 5-5 in the fifth, Djok got a push from his girl Jelena who shouted and implored him on lovingly and forcefully. He got that push. Murray never got that push from Kim or Lendl. He needed that little push at that moment. That was the difference. Who want it more? Djok's box wanted it more than Murray's. They need to make once change and get someone there who can provide that energy, that extra motivation in the moment of truth. And to repel off people like that assho7e who yelled double fault when Murray was serving, that did not help the sensitive Murray. Murray was right there today. Grand unforgettable effort.
