tomic is such a immature moron and MTF never forgets anything said- even when people are kids

lets leave the kid alone- he's fucking 19 for crying out loud

he's probably getting hyped by everyone around him- and he needs to get owned a few times by the big boys to set his ego in check

Tomic against Murray in Brisbane last month. 6-3 6-2.

Tomic: I can win Australia

Tomic against Fed in AO
6-4, 6-2, 6-2

Tomic:I'll be in the top 4 within the year.

After Tomic's next straight set drubbing by a top 10 player, what do you think he will say?

I dont think he'll break into the top four within the next year, but he might break through to the top ten. Top four are way too strong at the moment and Tomics game hasnt even come together properly yet. Good to hear he'c confident of doing big things soon though.

I think when he said that he was already top10. And starting to challenge the top guys.He wasn't to far of, became the third best player in the world when he was just 20years.

But who knows, I think he will be around 10 in the world in a year, if he works hard on his fitnes.

Top 4? Even if he managed to somehow get his ass up to #5 in the world, there is absolutely no way he's beating any of the Big 4. Murray? Djokovic? Nadal? Federer? They are FAAAAAARRRR superior to him. Andy thrashed him in Brisbane. Federer did the same in The Open. If he wants to be ranked in the top 4, he better hope at least one of them retires or is seriously injured, because there is no way he is beating any of the Big 4.

That said, he can't beat any of the guys ranked below them either with any consistency, so he's not making the top 8, let alone the top 4. Arrogant little twat has his eyes set on a goal that he'll likely NEVER achieve. Poor him.

Not top4 because they are too strong ATM. But of course he will be top 10 in the end of the year like I've been sayng for months here. He's way better than guys like Fish, Almagro and Tipsy. Top 4 I would say in 2 years time, but in depends on how in develops his game and on how good (or not) he becomes on clay. And of course, it depends on how the top 4 today players will fall or not.

Default Re: Tomic: "top 4 in a year"

Well, in a post on my blog about Tomic I predicted:

- Tomic will be a top 5 player and a grand slam contender within the next three years; multiple grand slam titles and the no. 1 spot but this is heavily dependant on how Tomic’s character develops and whether he can stay injury free.

Strictly in 2012:

1 Grand Slam semi-final (Wimbledon or the US Open) and one 4th round. An early exit at Roland Garros seems a near certainty owing to his lack of wins on clay at the professional level.
1 Masters Series final (probably later in the year, at Shanghai or Paris), and one semi-final.
1 victory over the ‘top 4′ of Federer/ Nadal/ Djokovic/ Murray in a best of 3 format.

It is obviously quite abrasive of him to say this about himself, but at least it makes for more exciting interviews than tedious, pr-inspired answers

Forget Top 4. Ferrer will take care of him before that.

Every single slam you cry about Nadal's draw (even when you're not right). I wonder what you think about this Murray's draw. You been very quiet this days.

He definitely has the potential. Against Djokovic last Wimbledon, he dictated the rallies with aggressive play off both wings except by the end of the 4th set and 5th set. He should have pushed Djokovic to 5 after being a break up but he choked. His problem was unforced errors. But by age 22, once his body is developed, he'll be a much tougher opponent.

Though he will need serious footwork if he wants that top 4 spot. It's almost impossible if you are not up to date with footwork.
