But i do think the WTA tour is improving. It's just that the differences were bigger and possibly everyone wasn't as serious (or cared too much about their pretty looks) to hit the gym enough.
Also need to sort out the groaning. It's stupid and everyone knows it. The 3 set matches are horrible too. Slam Finals have ended like 6-1, 6-1 in under an hour many times. Still they make as much as the men.

Well, it's less unfair than Men's tennis. Cause you can work your muscles. But in guys, if you are a small player like Rochus, it's very hard to win matches against guys like Isner, special on fast surfaces. And there is nothing you can do about it even if you are the most talented of players.

Choking, multiple service breaks, zero elite level players (all 4 slams were won by different players last year), too many mugs in top 10 pretty much sums up WTA today.

"Men in shorts, exerting themselves." My reasoning and phraseology hasn't changed in years. See here.
If I wanted to see skimpily dressed women, without a whole lot of talent grunting like a bunch of banshees, I'd watch a lo-grade Adult flick.

Way too many service breaks in the women's game! The guys really have to work for a break of serve.

Most casual fans couldn't do this with either tour, so I don't see what this has to do with anything. Maybe WTA fans don't give a rats ass about ATP players and only know the big names as well

Except the question was why I like men's better, not why the ATP is better than the WTA.

Maybe women's tennis should be like boxing and have weight divisions

Re: Why Do You Prefer Mens Tennis over Women's Tennis?
Few reasons,
-Scorelines in many WTA matches are a joke, scores like 6-1, 6-0 or 6-0, 6-2. That's a blowout, that's not even competitive tennis.
-There seems to be a constant revolving door of different players winning slams each year. There's no true star in the game. No WTA answer to a Federer or Nadal who dominates.
On the other hand, some of the players are hot, I guess thats about it.

Re: Why Do You Prefer Mens Tennis over Women's Tennis?
1. Despite the recent changes in surface speeds/gamestyles, there is still a variety of different types of players on the ATP. The WTA is an even bigger joke with the girls just trying to outlast each other from the back of the court.
2. Screeching is very unenjoyable to listen to. It is terrible to hear.
3. Similar to my first choice, the ATP still has good variance of how fast shots are hit.
4. Men are faster, stronger, etc. Why want to watch something that is slower, weaker, etc.
5. Lots of mentally poor players on the WTA and poor current generation. Just look at Caroline. #1 and no slams won. The Williams (which I hate with all my heart) have shown how much of a joke their tour is by barely trying outside the slams and then decide to turn it on during the slams. Similarly, Clijsters showed the same thing coming back from retirement and beating everyone who had been continuously playing at the slams.
There are more reasons, but I really don't care to share them, waste of time.
This isn't a knock against women professionals, as obviously it takes many years of dedication and hard work to get to where they are, I just don't see the point of watching the WTA for tennis when you have the ATP.

Henin? She and Mauresmo were the only players I would actually watch from the WTA.

Re: Why Do You Prefer Mens Tennis over Women's Tennis?
Higher quality.
Its like the premier league compared to an amateur league.
Also, the game on the women's side has become very dull since players like Henin, Hingis, Mauresmo retired. Everyone there plays the same way

Re: Why Do You Prefer Mens Tennis over Women's Tennis?
Also from what ive seen in recent years, comparatively speaking it's way too easy to become No.1. Djokovic had to push, and push before perfecting his game just to grab hold of the No.1 spot. Then you've got the WTA with the likes of Safina, Jankovic and Wozniacki as the best in their tour. Being in the top four of Mens tennis seems to grant players superstar status, where matches of them are shown on TV just because their in it. This doesn't seem to happen in the WTA unless they're Clijsters/Williams.
Plus somehing's gotta be wrong when the world No.1 is one of my fav players on the tour. Wozniacki <3

I prefer women's tennis. Serve is too dominant in men's tennis.

Watch Tomic vs Dolgopolov. no female player possesses that kind of variety or talent.
