Vamos  . This is the first time that Lucho has reached the 2nd round of an AMS event since Miami 2007, and the first time that he has reached the 2nd round at Rome since 2005.
It was good to see him well and truly kicking the world no. 9's ass, and stringing his 3rd consecutive victory together. Gasquet played as if he had no strings in his racket and was stoned on pot, but I have no qualms with him playing that way against one of my faves.
Either Chucho (hopefully), or Dima await Lucho in the 2nd round. |

Lucho's 2nd round opponent will be Chucho.
They haven't played each other since the 1st round of the US Open in 2005. Chucho leads the head to head 7-2, has won their last 6 matches, and has won all 5 of their ATP level matches.
I like both of these players but I'll be firmly rooted for Lucho there.
