Gadaffi was also executed because he proposed to trade oil for gold instead of yank dollars, which would seriously hamper their money printing industry, in fact I actually tend to agree with your assessment in regards to gullibility of the most sheep, who follow CNN like a bible. Hilarious thing is that most of the regimes were put in there by yanks themselves as a form of puppet governments (Hussein in Iraq, supporting Taliban during the Soviet/Afghan war etc). When they're no convenient or go rogue, they are assassinated and their countries are conquered under the guise of "establishing democracy" and "freeing the opressed" while in reality the wars are all about influence and natural resources.

I'm not that happy with Obama's work from what I've seen here on the other side of the Atlantic. Most economic trends are pointing the wrong way (still) for the US and it seems Obama and his advisers rather want to spend and loan their way out of trouble than take care of the core of the problem.

Sure give him 4 more years and maybe the changes he sat in motion will turn things around. Or give him 4 more and the hole will be even deeper to climb back up from.


I'd say US is in deep trouble no matter who is President. I think it needs a strong leader that can resist all the pressure from different actors and calm people down and explain the full extent of the problems. US will eventually have to take a pretty harsh decade to get the budget completely under control again. There is no room for radical experimentation or big changes. What is needed is a slow and steady cruise to get things 100% under control before it's too late.

The wars/foreign commitments etc are minor things in the big picture but stepping all those commitments down is the reasonable choice for the savings alone. The US economy is a major deal for the entire world because of globalization. EU and also Asia really need US to do well.

My hope is the voters focus on the economy and elect whatever side they think can restore order before it gets worse.

looking at things globally, i can't condemn the USA much. they have simply behaved like a superpower would and most countries would have probly done the same or worse in their position. when china and india finally get to emerge as the next big sheriffs in town, i won't expect any better.

By "claiming" you've killed Bin Laden, you can continue to find more excuses for the U.S. military to bomb more innocent civilians in Afghanistan and usurp them of their lives.

What's more ironic is how the U.S. goes after all these leaders that it had relations in the past with: Bin Laden, Saddam, Mubarak etc.
