Goldenoldie is in my EL of Alkmaar as Number 5X so he may play a CH. But now after his RG success he is ranked in Top 10. So he can't play Challengers anymore.
But to decide this I still use the "old" EL ranking and not the one from last monday, right? So he stays in the tournament.

This is from the FAQ thread and I think answers the question. The rule changed at the beginning of 2011, so that nothing had to be amended later.

Which rankings should be used for the Entry List and seeded players?

Entries, seedings, special exempts, tie-breakers and placements of byes, alternates and lucky losers will be based on the rankings from two weeks before the start of the tournament.

Okay thank you. I was not sure if this part also counts this decision.

So welcome to Alkmaar. A Top 10 player in a Futures Tournament.

Yes, we decided to use the same ranking for entry list and seedings so that there is less work for the manager.
Especcially after Grand Slam or Master tournaments there could be a lot of changes and it sometimes took long to find the players in the new ranking (although this got much easier with the new entry list maker )

Hello, I would board a position on an issue.
I'm managing blois future. It has a player in doubles ranking is 27, he can participate?
Another issue, one that has posted the following message: The player is Colt th magnific

"Challengers

Top 30 players in the singles entry rankings can't play them, except during the Davis Cup and Grand Slam second weeks and when there are no ATP tournaments played. They are allowed to play challengers in these weeks as late entries (LE), but they are not able to be seeded (qualifying or main draw)."

It's not a challenger, it's a future

It's my only chance to play this week, draws are full in Holland and Eastbourne

Player who is top 30 in singles ranking can't play challengers/futures (in TT it's the same type of tournament). Full draws is no excuse, top 30 players can get into any tournament they want if they commit on time. However, this rule is only about top 30 players in singles ranking.

Hi

I hope this is the right place to ask a couple of questions.

If I know my TT doubles partner will not be available in time to withdraw or commit to a TT tournament, can I do so on her behalf and if so, how?

I spoke with Carlita today so I know that the mods have no problem with my logging into my partner's account to do that, but is there any TT rule against it? (Carlita said it is very common that TT doubles players exchange passwords for TT purposes only.) ..If logging in as my partner is against TT rules, will my own post on the tournament thread committing or withdrawing for my partner be valid?

Also, I have read in your TT Rule Changes that doubles partners are not allowed to send in picks for one another, that the picks have to come from two separate players. So does this mean that dubs partners are not allowed to log into one another's accounts to send in picks for each other according to TT rules? Carlita said the mods don't mind that, but again, TT may have its own rule against it.

..I just want to be sure about TT's rules.

Thanks very much

You can commit your partner for TT, just say so in the thread (you don't have to login to your partner's account)
There's no rule about withdrawing but there's really no need, you could just let your partner not send I guess.

I think the rule about not sending for partners was meant to say: You can't PM this way:

Player A 20
Player B 20
Player C 20
Player D 20

Use my picks for my partner

Though I guess if you were to login to your partner's account it would essentially be doing the same thing so I don't think it should be allowed (though this would obviously be hard to check)

thanks orangehat

I ask about withdrawing as well as committing b/c there's a rule about the need to withdraw from one tournament before committing to another as an LE. But if my committing for my parnter on the thread would be valid, then I assume withdrawing for her would be valid too.

As to sending tips for a partner, there could be circumstances where partners are able to communicate with one another but one of them is not able to log onto the MTF board in time to make picks. That's why I ask. ..So when you say it should not be allowed, does that mean it IS not allowed? ..If you mean the latter, you probably should coordinate with the mods about it.

Meantime, I just want to be clear about the rules

I'm that a mod has said that it's alright to log in using someone else's account even if it is only for TT.

TBH, there's no specific rule about withdrawing someone else from a tournament and I don't think this has ever come up before. I would say it's not allowed as it is different to committing someone. In theory if I was first in qualifying I could withdraw someone from the main draw just before the deadline to get into MD.

The rule about not being to send picks for someone else is as orangehat as said.

oh dear, I hope I haven't caused trouble for the mod ..she said she doesn't play TT, so she is not familiar with the rules

..on the bright side, isn't it good that you can coordinate all that with one another now?

I see your point about the possibility of players withdrawing someone else to make a place for themselves in the MD Gavin, but I'm wondering if one very specific exception could be made to any such rule, that being in the circumstance involving only doubles partners and where, for example, I withdraw both myself and my partner in order to commit us both to another tournament as LEs and that this reason is clearly stated in the post. This would seem to eliminate the potential threat you mention, and is easily verifiable.

Would that be a possibility?

I'm still not entirely comfortable with that as you are still withdrawing someone else who might not want to be withdrawn, doubles partner or not.
