Congrats to the old man. Hard to say that he doesn't deserve this record given his period of utter dominance a few years ago, and now a return to consistently good results after a couple of patchy seasons in the non-slam events. 8 titles since Basel last year is scary good, albeit only one of those is a slam. He could potentially reach double figures for titles over the 365 day period since Basel given his current form.

It will be interesting to see how Noledal respond now, given as it did appear that they were separating themselves from Federer and the rest of the chasing pack over the past 18 months or so.

The upcoming months in the season will sure be interesting.
