I believe that moderators are more dangerous to our liberties than the most annoying of trolls. If the members of MTF ever allow mods to control their posting, first by deletions, then by bans, the moderators and snitches that will grow up around them will deprive the forum of all quality posters.
Can the moderator who banned the four letter word for forced sex be nominated in absentia? For me, whoever thought that banning the word **** was a sane thing to do deserves the title in perpetuity. But the responsible one is no doubt too ashamed to ever attempt to provide a justification of his/her action.
Like the people who give movies a box office boost by complaining about them, this mod has made posts with **** stand out and be noticed. This is the kind of thinking that would lead to banning dictionaries from libraries.
Is there a single member who has ever claimed that seeing the word r**e in print offends his sensibilities? Or, put another way, is there any member who is NOT offended by seeing a perfectly respectable word replaced by asterisks in an appaling misinterpretation of modesty and good taste?

“There are always moments when one feels empty and estranged. Such moments are most desirable, for it means the soul has cast its moorings and is sailing for distant places. This is detachment -- when the old is over and the new has not yet come. If you are afraid, the state may be distressing, but there is really nothing to be afraid of. Remember the instruction: Whatever you come across -- go beyond.”
