Never really liked Only Fools and Horses - but I must admit that that chandeleir scene makes me laugh every time.

me too

I love them all: Are You Being Served? Benny Hill, Fawlty Towers, Waiting For God; Monty Python. Allo Allo was British, too, even though it was set in France.

They should have used this and bring a whole new comedic element in to the show. Bumphrey gets caught in a Chris Hansen type sting operation. After that Bernard and Hacker have to cover up his actions. Isn't British politics full of these nancy boys?

Two quite weak series were "Last of the Summer Wine" and "As Time Goes By". Sometimes you got the feeling there weren't any audience in the latter. It could take almost five minutes before anyone laughed politely to some jokes.

Last of The Summer Wine went on about 25 years too long.

Although As Time Goes By I always liked.

The IT Crowd is also good, plus many of the mentioned.

Tennis has no blood passport system, and does basically no out of competition testing.

The methods and drugs used by Armstrong in 1999 would work in tennis right now, with zero chance of being caught (not slightly surprising to anyone familiar with the topic, btw).

LOL - nancy boys - don't think that phrase has been used here since the 70's.

I think it's an excellent phrase. It's not as offensive as many others. And it's a perfect way of describing Sir Bumphrey.

Like I mentioned Blackadder was superb. But it was interesting how different and weak the first season was. The Blackadder character was stupid and almost like an early draft of Mr. Bean. But "Blackadder Goes Forth" might be the best ever. The ending is a classic. Season two is also brilliant. Season three was very good, but Stephen Fry was missing.

But you have to keep it real. Listen how Sir Humphrey says the words yes minister, or almost every other sentence as well. It's a huge nancy boy statement.

Guilty pleasure: even the cheesy shit like Keeping Up Appearances and As Time Goes By.

More modern: British Office was good, and right now I'm loving That Mitchell and Web Look (Peep Show is a bit too crass for the wife).

"As Time Goes By" was hardly cheesy to me. It was one of the most charming series to air on Public Television. Judy Dench and Geoffrey Palmer had tremendous rapport as actors and Lionel's parents were a scream. Also enjoyed Mrs. Bale - one hell of a stand out performance.

Another favorite of mine was "Butterflies" about a woman who copes with her mundane life married to a dentist by flirting with a man she meets by chance on the street and then spends the rest of the time fantasizing about what could be with him.

Another one not mentioned was "The Good Neighbors" with Felicity Kendal and Richard Briers. I bought the whole collection. They play suburbanites who decide they want to live off the land and start a farm in the middle of the London suburb of Surbiton. Great stuff.

Only Fools and Horses I'll just turn it on when there's nothing on TV. That Batman and Robin scene has to be the funniest thing I've ever seen on TV.
