I'm sure that you can Google lots of stuff on Brian Baker. Basically he would be a top ten player if not for injuries. He was #2 in juniors at 17 years old, beat Djokovic, Murray, and Monfils in junior Grand Slams (made the final of the French juniors), and beat Gaudio as a US Open WC at 19.
From there he has gone through so many injuries that it is unreal. He will make a comeback out of nowhere, thrash everyone in a few futures or challenger tournaments despite not playing for years, and then get injured again. Many coaches called him the greatest junior talent that they've ever seen.

Re: Week 45 : Knoxville (Entry List)
Here was an article in the New York Times about Brian Baker and the career that never was. All of the talent in the world, but he has been through three hip surgeries, Tommy John surgery, and an elbow surgery. Who knows what else he has gone through since this article came out a couple of years ago.

Re: Week 45 : Knoxville (Entry List)
Brian was talented. His strengths were his returning, and from what I remember, he always kept great length on his shots and changed direction really well with the ball. I don't think he was as good as people made him out to be, but he would have had an ATP career. Obviously he still has game left and he's playing sort of a home event so not surprising he's having a good run here.

He isn't even 'that' old so he may still get to the ATP level eventually like Bogomolov.
Having said that, he missed about 3 years of pro tennis, so I dunno....
