Shanghai FQR: Young def Zverev 6-3, 6-4
Well he was better than yesterday which is enough to get to the MD
He is still showing effects frm the Murray bagel, but the more wins he gets to leave it behind the better

Re: Shanghai FQR: Young def Zverev 6-3, 6-4
Beating Zverev doesn't count as a win these days.
I hereby petition that MTF rename such results as "XXX plays Zverev".

He ended the 1st and begin the 2nd well. Got off to a 4-0 lead and held on 6-4. Tough to see him winning a match in the main draw. Good job of qualifying though.

Don't worry Young; Nadal got bagelled in a final versus Murray as well.

Hopefully he sees the result. Same scoreline 6-2, 6-0 as when he played Andy. He needs to get that confidence back.

Re: Shanghai FQR: Young def Zverev 6-3, 6-4
DY can win a match in the MD, against several players, but his form doesn't seem to be quite as good right now as it was previous. He was up two breaks in the second set but then had to struggle to close the set out, same as yesterday. But he took advantage of the weak draw he got and qualified. Hopefully he can continue his progression with a couple Masters series wins.

Easy work for the Don, don't know why people keep talking about the Murray game because Andy has tons more experience and is a top four player, i don't believe Donald has played so many games in a row either so it's no surprise that the kid took a beating like that, he'll learn though and i'm sure he will get better in the long run.

If that bagel is still bothering him well he can take comfort from the fact that one of the all time greats just got bagelled by Murray today. It happens. Get over it.

Yeah, I was hard on Young, and I still don't like it, but apparently Murray can bagel anyone in a final.

Zverev now out of top 250.
Fair chance he quits game altogether.

Adda boy Don. He has Gong in the first round, so that's basically a bye to the 2nd round regardless of his form.

zverev should retire, he's been a steady slump for years now and it's just getting worst.

He just turned 24, doubt he quits because of one bad year.
His year actually may be worse than Golubev's (although he beat him this year). 9-31 on the year is just crazy considering that in 2006 he had a 73-31 match record.
