I am just so used to your grass court propaganda and comments about the slowing of the surface, yet not complaining about the changes on clay. Perfect calendar would be less tournaments.

Yes okay, less tournaments. But not the majority played on two main surfaces, clay and hardcourt, then followed by indoor and with only a few events on grass the whole year.
25% clay - 25% hardcourt - 25% indoor - 25% grass

25% clay - 25% hardcourt - 25% indoor - 25% grass

It won't happen, a fact due to simple maintenance issues of grass courts. There'd logically have to be cuts in the calendar, but that won't happen any time soon.

Re: SHOULD SOME CLAY COURT TOURNAMENTS BE TAKEN FROM ATP SCHEDULE
i put it like that cos there's only 4 grass tourns one can possibly play (well 3 for most people) and one for the doofusus (Newport )
another suggestion could be
6 clay, 6 hard and any 6 combination of (indoors and grass) which would be better.
re-doing the calendar is fine but its never gonna work especially as the slams wont budge.

Re: SHOULD SOME CLAY COURT TOURNAMENTS BE TAKEN FROM ATP SCHEDULE
Newport should only be a half a point, as for the Slams if one of them changed the dates, then the others would depending on which Slam it was.

They can play one month on grass, why couldn't they play for two months on this surface.

What, play a whole month in Australia on grass, then move elsewhere?

Why only in Australia? 15 years ago there was no Gerry Weber Open facility. Look how easy it can be to install a new and successful grasscourt tournament in Europe.

Number of grasscourts for one, and now it's not practical to go around and building the most expensive surface to maintain everywhere.
It's not the 70s anymore.

they only did that cos they wanted to rival Queens in prep for Wimbledon.
if Wimbledon moved back a week or two then you would need more grass events.
cant see them playing more events in UK Manchester (capital of rain) comes back

They should play one in Aberdeen.
I have been to 2 training sessions for DC this week and I have already had enough of that fodder infested cabbage patch already.

Then they should play at least more indoor events and get rid of some of the clay and hardcourt ones.

There are enough indoor events as it is, takes away many of the natural factors that are associated with the game.

If not more grass events (natural factor) can be installed, there are still not enough to guarantee the best possible and fairest balance between the remaining three: clay, indoor, hardcourt
